Job Title: Community Development Specialist

This role involves providing preventive and developmental programs/services to service users and community at large according to the centre's framework. It requires a strong understanding of social work principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to engage with youth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement program design and support evaluation of programs.
  • Conduct intervention via sports and arts programs on site and off site.
  • Conduct planning and coordination of centre events.
  • Conduct needs analysis and environmental scans when needed.
  • Implement community outreach and developmental initiatives.
  • Conduct engagement and early screening (e.g., CANS, MHCI etc.).
  • Conduct casework and counseling, conduct needs and risks assessment for low-risk cases.
  • Manage and update program and case notes in a clear and coherent/comprehensive manner.
  • Perform relevant admin tasks including updating the centre's statistics and CMS.
  • Consolidate periodical reports for submission to management or other relevant authorities.
  • Collaborate with clients, key stakeholders/and other professionals.
  • Liaise with external vendors and community partners.
  • Responsible for tasks assigned by Head and/or Supervisor.
  • Attend relevant training and supervision.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Social Work.

We are seeking a Youth Services Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the operations at our youth services and assisting in the conceptualization and implementation of delivery of services to our adolescents in different settings.

You will work closely with our team to plan and execute programs and activities with adolescents in various settings, including community, schools, and legal systems. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conceptualizing, planning, and executing programs and activities with adolescents in different settings
  • Participating in planning and conceptualizing programs and session curriculum with the team
  • Completing documentation and reports for programs and sessions conducted
  • Taking part in systemic work such as case conferences and stakeholder meetings
  • Handling crisis situations faced by the adolescents in reference to organizational framework and supervisory input where required
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Degree in Social Work. It is also preferable to have some experience in working with young persons, although entry-level graduates are welcome to apply.

You should be able to engage with young persons in both formal and informal settings and work independently to conceptualize, design, deliver, and evaluate programs. Additionally, you should be able to hold conversations with young persons and external partners and participate in sports and physical activities when needed.
