The Head of Youth Services will be responsible for developing and implementing operational strategies that ensure effective, relevant, and sustainable service delivery for our adolescents and youth programs. You will partner closely with the Service Group Director to translate Care Corner's goals for youth services into strategic initiatives and support their implementation in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. You will also manage the financial and manpower resources to ensure optimal usage, and to help build the talent pipeline for the organization as a whole. This is a management position reporting to the Director (Children and Youth Services).
Key Result Areas
Strategy and Program Development
- Develop short-, medium-, and long-term strategies, action plans, and targets aligned with Care Corner's vision and mission for Youth Services.
- Ensure Youth Services are responsive to changing policies and sector developments, enhancing presence and relevance.
- Review service models with the Director, leading service redesign to ensure currency and impact over the next 3-5 years.
- Analyse the financial viability and cost structures of programs and service models, monitoring costs relative to operations and outcomes.
- Contribute to the continuum of care across Children and Youth Services, ensuring integration and holistic support.
Operational Efficiency and Resource Management
- Oversee the planning, implementation, and monitoring of Youth Services operations to ensure high-quality delivery, governance compliance, and accessibility for target clientele.
- Prepare and monitor financial budgets and projections for Youth Services.
- Vet and approve reports submitted by Managers/Programme Heads to external stakeholders, including government authorities.
- Cover respective Managers/Programme Heads in overseeing day-to-day operations when necessary.
- Ensure effective use of resources, balancing operational needs with organisational priorities.
Organization and Capability Development
- Recruit, select, appraise, and develop staff to build a capable and committed workforce.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to senior staff, strengthening personal effectiveness, leadership, and management capabilities.
- Foster staff motivation, team spirit, and commitment through effective communication and feedback systems.
- Partner with People & Organisational Development (P&OD) and other functions to identify capability gaps and create growth opportunities.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
- Build sector presence by fostering collaborations with government agencies (e.g., MSF, MOE), schools, SSAs, and community partners.
- Secure partnerships and funding to strengthen and grow youth-related services.
- Engage funders, government agencies, schools, and community partners to secure resources and strengthen service provision.
- Network with SSAs and sector stakeholders to enhance program effectiveness and promote sector development.
Serve as a member of the People Management Team
- Serve as an active member of the People Management Team (PMT) in stewarding the health and effectiveness of the organisation.
- Actively participate in and contribute to PMT meetings and other PMT activities.
- Participate in formulating and supporting Care Corner organisational directives, decisions and initiatives.
- Provide Service Group or Functional reports to the SMT, the Board, and other partners and stakeholders as required.
- Serve as a representative of Care Corner to our stakeholders and partners, and where appropriate, participate in internal or external working groups, task forces, panels and/or committees.
