The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating servicing, inspection, repair and maintenance of equipment, plant, and facilities to ensure minimum downtime. Additionally, the individual will plan and organize weekly and daily preventive maintenance (PM) programs.

Responsibilities include:

• Coordinating minor and major repairs, replacements & overhauls of equipment, plant, and facilities at component & system level, to ensure minimum disruption to operations.
• Ensuring quick response to troubleshoot, rectify, and re-activate equipment, plant, and facilities. If unable, organizing recovery to workshop to repair, rectify and make good, and put back into operation with minimum delays and downtime.
• Verifying the accuracy of computer daily job sheets and time keeping.
• Monitoring and reviewing work methods, conditions, and housekeeping to ensure a safe working environment.
• Verifying and ensuring workshop equipment are maintained in good working condition.
• Verifying parts for replacement are beyond economic repair (BER) and cannot be reconditioned.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills, and a passion for maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Applicants must have a vocational or ITE certificate in building maintenance, or equivalent. Relevant experience in servicing, inspection, repair and maintenance of equipment, plant and facilities is an added advantage. A minimum LTA class 3 driving license is also required.

• To be responsible for the safety of maintenance staff.
• To supervise the contractor to compete the job safely with high quality. And make sure they comply with prison rules and regulation.
• To coordinate with contractor to complete the assignment.
• Maintain all workshop tools and equipment in orderly manner.
• To ensure Workplace Safety & Health.
• To maximize production capacity, productivity and quality.
• To instil the right value attitude and mind set to inmate in order to change their habit, behaviour and change their life other than just train them on the technical skills.

Requirements

• Diploma in electronics, electrical or mechanical engineering, or ITC in electronics
• 2-3 years of experience in similar roles and industry
• ITC – 5 years of relevant experience
• Boiler experience in Laundry / Linen services industry preferred.
• Troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, electronic, and related problems and being able to read all the above drawings
• Preferably know how to read Auto-Cad and Line Drawing
• Able to work in a fast-paced and restricted work environment
• Able to understand electrical and mechanical systems
• Boiler License Class 1 / 2 preferred.
