Roles & Responsibilities
Design and architect implementation and migration strategies across enterprise environments.
Lead technical assessments, gap analysis, and readiness evaluations for target infrastructure.
Define migration workflows, automation scripts, rollback plans, and validation checkpoints.
Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and application teams to ensure compatibility and performance.
Provide hands-on technical leadership during pilot, testing, and production migration phases.
Identify and mitigate risks related to data integrity, downtime, and compliance.
Act as a key escalation point for technical issues during migration execution.
Requirements
11+ years of experience in virtualization technologies, with deep expertise in both VMware vSphere and Hypervisor both on windows and linux environments
Proven track record in designing and executing large-scale implementation / migration projects in enterprise or financial environments.
Strong understanding of storage, networking, and compute dependencies in virtualized ecosystems.
Familiarity with backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning in virtual environments.
Experience with performance tuning, capacity planning, and post-migration optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

This is a role within the Technology unit. The incumbent will support various virtualization platforms’ deployment and operation, including:

1. To build and operate virtualization platform, including AIX, Oracle/RedHat KVM and VMware virtualization. (To include various experiences in this aspect in your resume)

• Manage the end-to-end deployment and delivery of the virtualization infrastructure from deployment planning, setup & testing, pre-production readiness to production cutover. Conduct proper transition from Project to Operations before project closure.

• Understand the solution, scope and deliverables of the project, review the implementation and cutover strategy and work towards executing a successful project cutover.

• Collaborate with Solution Engineer, Application teams, Infrastructure SME’s and service providers to meet the project objectives and schedule, and address issues that arise in the project through timely escalation.

• Prepare and submit the necessary change requests and requisition for the deployment of infrastructure for the project, such as facility/VM request, IP/DNS/Hostname request, SAN requisition, etc.

• Deploy infrastructure setup according to the Bank policies/standards and approved solution design.

• Achieve target SLA for Infrastructure Provisioning and complete project deployment as per agreed schedule and plans.

2. To provision VM for the target virtualization platform, including adhoc cpu/memory/disk resource changes.

3. To perform daily health check on the virtualization platforms.

4. To perform firmware/OS patching on hypervisors/virtualization tools, including EOS/EOL upgrade.

5. To participate in shift work to cover critical hours onsite and 24x7 offsite.

6. To support VM migration between virtualization platforms.

8. To develop scripts that help to automate daily health check tasks.

Job Responsibilities

1. Validation & Monitoring
Candidate MUST possess VMWare experience with some of the OS maintains experience. Candidate must list down all their experiences in VMWare and OS maintenance in their resume.

Monitor VM Health & Performance: Ensure that all VMs are running smoothly in the new Alternate hypervisor environment, including monitoring CPU, memory, disk usage, and network performance.

Resource Allocation: Support application request for resource modification and allocation by review and reallocate system resources (CPU, memory, storage) based on request
Automate Tasks: Perform regular maintenance tasks, such as performance monitoring, backup monitoring, and resource utilization monitoring

4. Security and Compliance Management
Security Configurations: Review that all security configurations are correctly applied post-migration, including firewalls, access control, and encryption. Highlight to DBS team if there is any violation
Compliance Checks: Review VM that migrated to the new environment meets relevant regulatory and compliance requirements.

In addition, it would be good if candidate could: -

- Work on fill SDLC, including requirement gathering, design, coding, unit testing, system testing and documentation.
- Support deployment for the software into production to replace 900+ ESXi hosts.
- Supporting operational tasks for production applications that are developed by the team, including responding to quries, troubleshooting, documentation and hygiene tasks.
- Ensuring and improving application reliability and resiliency .
