The Vessel IT Engineer is responsible for managing the day-to-day IT service operations, working closely with the Fleet division and remote team to support vessel IT operations. Role Accountabilities
IT Operation Management
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure onboard vessels and at onshore facilities, including networks, hardware, software, servers, and communication systems.
- Managing communication systems such as satellite communication, radio communication, and other data transmission systems to enable effective real-time communication between vessels, shore offices, and other stakeholders.
- Implementing robust cybersecurity measures to protect vessels and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards for data protection.
- Conduct cybersecurity training to the offshore team.
- Work closely with the Fleet division for vessel-related projects.
- Lead and guide the remote helpdesk and Vessel IT team.
- Managing daily IT operational issues.
- Administrative handling of commissioning and decommissioning of vessels IT peripherals.
- Set policies and define service levels for vessel IT offerings and services.
- Manage contracts and communication with sub-suppliers and strategic partners relating to vessel IT.
- Ensure that IT components needed to deliver IT services are identified, accounted for, reported, verified, and audited.

- Experience in managing daily IT operational issues, overseeing IT infrastructure, and ensuring compliance with licensing requirements for all software used within the company.

Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of experience in mechanical design (such as piping design, etc.) in process plant (water/wastewater treatment plant, incineration plant, etc.) with Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Must be a self-starter and be able to work with minimal supervision, make sound decisions, take independent action, and provide focused solutions to assigned projects.
- Possess strong inter-personal and communication skills and be able to work well with people at all levels in the organization.
