As a Tunnel Engineer, you'll help the company meet technical and regulatory standards in tunnel, geotechnical and structural design. Through clear documentation and coordination, the tunnel engineer contributes to client satisfaction and ongoing business opportunities. Based in Hong Kong, as part of and supporting our Asia unit team, you may also have the opportunity to, in addition to supporting the portfolio of Hong Kong projects, navigate and support some of the regional projects across Asia (e.g. Singapore) based on needs.

Key Role & Responsibilities
Provide support to projects as per the specific needs of the project at different stages
Support in carrying out technical design based on relevant ordinances, code of practices, guidelines and design requirements
Provide technical input for design, analysis and numerical model, e.g. tunnel, ELS, site formation
Contribute to business development and client engagement
Collaborate with project teams to deliver high-quality, timely, and cost-effective solutions to engineering design

About the role
The Tunnel Engineer is responsible for supervising and coordinating tunneling works, including TBM and/or mined tunneling, ensuring safe, timely, and quality execution of civil works in compliance with design, safety, and authority requirements.
What you'll be doing
- Supervise and monitor tunneling activities such as excavation, lining, grouting, and support works.
- Review construction drawings, method statements, and technical specifications related to tunnel works.
- Coordinate with geotechnical engineers, surveyors, and site teams to ensure safe and effective execution.
- Monitor ground conditions, settlement, and tunnel face stability, reporting any irregularities.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and tunneling risk management procedures.
- Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve technical issues.
- Track progress, prepare daily reports, and support project scheduling.
- Assist in testing, quality control, and preparation of as-built documentation.
- Perform any ad-hoc tasks assigned by the superior.
What we're looking for
- Recognized bachelor's degree in engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in tunneling or underground civil projects (LTA/MRT project experience preferred)
- Candidates with more years of experience may be considered for a Senior role.
- Large diameter (over 10m diameter) bored tunnelling experience.
- Knowledge of TBM, NATM, SEM, or mined tunneling methods.
- Familiar with geotechnical monitoring and tunneling equipment.
