KidsFirst is an Early Intervention School, Occupational Therapy, and Speech and Language Therapy clinic for children. Our centre works with children with special needs (Autism, Global Developmental Delay, Down Syndrome, Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), genetic disorders, and Cerebral Palsy, etc). We deliver an intensive therapy-based program and also provide 1-1 therapy services.

What are we looking for?

KidsFirst is ideally looking for practitioners who meet the following requirements:

· Possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy

· AHPC Approved University

· Experienced in assessment, diagnosis and implementation of treatment / intervention programs and support of activities of daily living

· Evident proficiency in English Language and well spoken

· Experienced in caseload management inclusive of parental concerns and clinician related challenges

· Ability to work well with a diverse team, as well as independently; with strong organizational and analytical skills

· Maintain files and/or records for the purpose of documenting activities and/or follow standard operational procedures

· Participate in a collaborative model with all team members

· Preparation of material/responses to guide parents and provide assessment

Reporting to the Senior Occupational Therapist, you will:

• Define treatment objectives for each client and implementing treatment programmes. The definition of “clients” in this context, applies to the residents of the Home, Respite cases and Day Care Clients.
• Attend and partake in discussion of Individual Care Plan (ICP) of clients, case conferences and meetings.
• Compile and submit periodic reports and statistics to the Director (Client Services).
• Documenting clients’ progress, reassessing and refining where applicable.
• Assist to oversee the work performance and skill development of the Therapy Aides.
• Improve and/or develop the Occupational Therapy activities from time to time.
• Work with the multi-disciplinary team in the assessment of potential clients.
• Maintain proper records of inventory and coordinate purchase/maintenance/repair of equipment, assistive devices, wheelchairs etc.
• Collaborate with Volunteer Programme Management team on volunteers’ orientation, coordination and training for the Occupational Therapy areas as well as various social activities and on-going programmes for the clients at the Home.
• Collaborate with Social Services team on various programmes such as craft-making, outings and social recreational activities for the Day Care clients.
• Perform any other reasonable duties required by the management.

· Document Beneficiaries’ progress, re-assessments, re-defining goals where applicable.

· Improve and/or develop new occupations for Beneficiaries (e.g. Horticulture, Urban Farming, 3D Printing Projects, Soap Making, Leathering).

· Work closely with the multi-disciplinary team in the assessment of potential clients for ADH and DAC Programmes.

· Maintain proper records of assets inventory and coordinate acquisition/maintenance/repair of equipment, assistive aids, and wheelchairs.

· Collaborate with the Senior Executive (Volunteer Programme Management) on volunteers’ orientation, coordination, and training for handling and supervision of manual and motorized wheelchair users, social activities and on-going programmes for the clients at the Home.

· Perform any other reasonable duties, as required by the Rehab Dept or the Home.

Job specification:

• Possess a recognized Degree (Honours) in Occupational Therapy

• Full registration with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC)
