**A Day in the Life**
The Transportation Planner is responsible for the management and oversight of the movement of goods across the Medtronic Global Supply chain.
In addition, the Planner is responsible for managing our transportation providers and key partners to ensure the optimal balance of service, cost, and capacity. The planner will identify process improvements and drive meaningful changes across the business to improve service, while maintaining or lowering costs. The Transportation Planner will manage the day to day execution of their assigned region/activity, as well as drive results across the transportation function and the supply chain.
In this role, the planner will assist in the creation of the load, perform optimization as needed, and manage the end-to-end execution of the shipment activities.
**Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:**
+ Develops and implements transportation plans and policies.
+ Partners with internal/external stakeholders, builds relationships to support supply chain end to end objectives. Builds relationship with operational leaders to provide superior service; responds to feedback to create solutions to unique market requirements.
+ Develop, implement, and lead on-boarding of new vendors, management policies, procedures, processes, and standards.
+ Manage shipment exceptions, shipment prioritization and expedited shipments.
+ Leverage systems and technology to manage transportation network. Identify and execute opportunities to improve processes, service and reduce freight spend.
+ Proactively monitor and strive to maintain high level of quality, accuracy and process consistency in the planning effort.
+ Support transportation related new functionalities and/or new systems implementations.
+ Partner with Transport planning team in other regions to ensure On Time Performance of cross regions shipments.
+ Lead projects as assigned.
**Required Knowledge and Experience:**
+ Bachelors degree required
+ Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Logistic - Transportation role.
+ Knowledge of transportation operations and freight tendering / tracking processes.
+ Knowledge of various modes within the Transportation Industry
+ Experience with Transportation Planning and Optimisation is benefitial
+ Experience with TMS and Transport Operational Planning experience is benefitial
+ Experience working in a US multinational (matrix organization) is a plus.
+ Experience working within the healthcare environment is beneficial.

- Responsible to daily logistics operation activities
- Coordination / Negotiation with internal & external parties (customers / supplier & freight forwarders etc.) regarding shipment arrangement
- Daily shipment arrangement and documentation, including PO generating and sending, SAP input, Sailing schedule arrangement, Invoice & BL checking, etc.
- Supplier and customer management
- Handle order backlog and forecast management
- Perform cost analysis. Awareness of cargo cost and logistics cost)
- Other ad hoc duties as assigned by the company
Job Requirements:
- Diploma / Degree Holder with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledgeable and having experience in Incoterms
- Experience issuing or generating high volume of Purchase Orders (POs)
- Experience liaising with forwarders for overseas shipments (import and export)
- Experience handling shipping documentation, for example, invoice, packing list, etc.
- Proficient in MS office (Excel, Word, PowerPoints)
- Have a good communication skills, teamwork, time management and problem solving
- Comfortable with working overtime and overseas travel when required.
Compensation:
- Work location: Central
- Working hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm
