Job Description
The role of a Bus-Tram Captain involves providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the safe operation of buses and trams.
- Operate vehicles safely, following traffic laws and company procedures.
- Adhere to scheduled service times and routes, adjusting only when required due to road or safety conditions.
- Liaise with the Service Controller for instructions in case of delays, route disruptions, or emergencies.
- Ensure vehicle signage is correctly displayed before and during service.
A Bus-Tram Captain must possess excellent communication skills, as well as confidence in using onboard announcement systems.
In addition to these responsibilities, a Bus-Tram Captain must adhere to all policies and procedures, prioritize safety, and report any injuries or concerns regarding health and safety issues.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Valid Certificate 4 driving license
- Valid Bus Driver's Vocational License (company sponsor available for suitable candidate without BDVL)
- Secondary education/WPL Level 3, or an equivalent
- Strong awareness of road safety and vehicle operation
- Excellent communication skills
- Confidence in using onboard announcement systems
Prior experience in public transport or tourism service environments is a plus.
