Role Overview:
We are recruiting high calibre candidate who will support front office trading desk of TP ICAP in Operations environment. He/ She will lead a team of Operation trade management associates, specialised in Trade Support and Trade Management on interest rate derivative, Foreign Exchange, Money Markets, Credit and Exchange traded products.
He/ she is also responsible for Operations Control functions and be the First-Point-of-Escalation, including but not limited to: Trade Capture, Trade Lifecycle management, Intersystem reconciliation, revenue reporting & Regulatory Reporting, etc.
The candidate will work closely with the Front Office, to drive and discuss initiatives to aid the Front Office in Trade booking and Brokerage Calculation, and supports the business during Trade Lifecycle, i.e. Before/ during/ after trade executions. To provide Operations feedbacks and perspective with Risk & Control mindset while facilitating the Business and Front Office from initial booking through the Front/ Middle Office systems to Confirmations.
As the head of the Singapore Trade management team, the candidate will have to ensure Service Level requirement is met and escalation matrix/ contingency plan is followed. The role and responsibility includes Client Services, Operations Excellence and Quality Assurance: Ensure all trades are accurately booked and matched in time according to strict settlements timelines and/or client’s expectation; ensure all trade confirmations are checked and accurate and send to clients; ensure all enquiry are properly handled and promptly follow-up; ensure tasks are all completed by deadline or end-of-day; ensure all procedures/ SOP are up-to-date.
Role Responsibilities:
To assume full responsibility for managing and running of the Operational support of the Trade Management team in Singapore and their associated functions:
Manage the Singapore Trade Management Team, supporting the relevant asset classes, ensuring that our business is supported at all times.
Define, and provide oversight of the roles and responsibilities, within the team, providing guidance and leadership to team members.
Ensure that policy and procedure documents are maintained, and updated as and when appropriate, to reflect the way in which Trade Management operates.
Take ownership, where necessary, of any issues that may arise, in the day to day operating model of the Trade Management Team.
Ensure that any cross-training is defined, implemented and completed, so as to not have any “single points of failure” within the team
Ensure that any and all information relevant to the team, is disseminated, and understood by all team members.
Proactively manage the risk and control environment, including preparing for any regulatory change, in conjunction with the Regional Head of Trade Management.
Ensure that the team operates within the parameters of the control environment, acting as a first line of defence to our business, at all times and all tasks required of the team, are completed in a timely and efficient manner, whilst ensuring that the team proactively manages the risk and control environment.
Monitor all in-house exception monitoring tools, to ensure that we provide a robust, consistent, and efficient trade management process for our business.
Ensure and evidence oversight of any regular intra-day, Intra-week, or intra-month tasks, necessary to ensure that our trades are managed as appropriate.
Engage with the Regional Head of Trade management, to ensure that the way in which the team operates, is aligned to the strategy of Global Broking, Operations at all times.
Provide analysis and suggestions for process changes, in order to constantly improve the way in which Trade Management team operates.
Engage with internal and external control and audit functions as appropriate, including, but not limited to internal and external Audit, and the Business Risk and Control Team, to include assisting with the completion of RCSAs etc
Engage and represent Trade Management as a stakeholder in any relevant or ad hoc project, providing analytical, or procedural expertise, to ensure that Operational goals and standards are not compromised in the delivery of a given project.
Engage with regional counterparts, and also other Trade Management Managers in the same region, to ensure that knowledge and information is disseminated in a timely and accurate manner.
Involve in resolving complex issues across multiple trades/products, and conduct post event analysis, as required.
Potential of leading trade management function of satellite offices in the APAC region.

5 to 7 years or above experience in Senior Trade Management role essential;

**Basic Purpose/Accountabilities:**
The Director, Market Analysis plays a crucial role in supporting Singapore Trading activities by providing oversight and guidance to the Market Analysts group. This support encompasses offering fundamental analysis direction to the analysts, as well as serving as the Strategist for Global Heavies Trading.
The incumbent will lead the local team of Market Analysts and collaborate with strategists and analysts in other Phillips 66 offices to develop trading strategies based on fundamental analysis, focusing on Heavies. The Director, Market Analysis is expected to actively engage local trading managers to understand business needs and tailor analysis accordingly.
**Primary Responsibilities:**
* Understand local key trading positions in crude, clean products, fuel oil, NGL, LPG, renewables and coordinate local market analysts' work to suggest/evaluate required analysis to ensure all aspects of a trade position is understood.
* Coordinate development and maintenance of supply and demand models for the Heavies group and understand other supply / demand models supported by other commodity strategists. This involves working closely with Trading to understand the market trends, incorporate downtime, seasonal cycles, macroeconomic variables and utilize import/export data to ensure models are accurate and accepted by trading.
* Work with market analysts to improve the accuracy of supply and demand models and forecasts for short and medium terms.
* Identify market anomalies and communicate to Trading on what physical market and forward market changes might occur. This includes understanding and communicating geopolitical and regulatory events/factors which impact price movements.
* Collaborate with traders and global team of strategists to predict market behaviours using models and identify additional fundamental data to develop forward global market views using predictive models.
* Network and develop relationships with external consultants and other analysts in the industry for market understanding.
* Participate in weekly meetings with traders and collaborate to generate trading ideas, formulate short-term market views and trading strategies centered on spreads, options, flat and floating prices for physical and paper trades.
* Lead local team of market analysts in preparation of global trading meetings and provide ad hoc analysis and help with data augmentation exercises carried by the analysis team.
* Work with the Chief Economist Office by updating corporate long-range price forecasts.
* Assist with the development and implementation of Quantitative Analysis methods, as appropriate, to capitalize on opportunities in financials trading in the various derivatives markets.
* Work with third party consultants and brokers to understand and evaluate views on oil movements and factor those into development of Phillips 66's market view.
* Coach / mentor the team of analysts to support their development within the company by fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment to drive excellence and continuous improvement in analytical capabilities.
**Basic / Required Qualifications: **
* Master's or advance degree in engineering, finance or economics
* 10+ years of market analysis experience at a major oil company, commodity trading house or investment bank with previous experience in leading a team of market analysts
* Prior working experience in other trading hubs like London, NYC, Dubai or Houston is a plus
* Financial, economic, statistical analysis or modelling experience required
* Strong written, oral communication and presentation skills
* Proficiency with Excel, Access or other database software, statistical modelling software, and economic model development is a plus with coding experience in SQL, VBA, Python, R or other programming language
* High degree of collaborative skills with the ability to develop, lead and actively participate on cross functional teams and counterparts globally

Role Summary

The Senior / Sales Manager (Trade & Retail) drives business growth and profitability across all sales channels, including modern trade, general trade and retail stores. This role oversees the execution of channel strategies, trade promotions, and retail operations, ensuring alignment with brand and corporate objectives. The manager leads a team of Key Account and Sales Operations Executives to deliver sales targets, optimize distribution, and maximize ROI on trade investments.

Key Responsibilities

1) Sales & Channel Strategy

  • Develop and implement sales strategies across assigned trade channels and accounts to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  • Analyze internal and external sales data to identify distribution gaps, market opportunities, and competitive threats
  • Lead annual sales planning and target-setting exercises in alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Recommend corrective action plans and new initiatives to close sales gaps and improve channel performance.

2) Key Account & Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and trade partners
  • Develop joint business plans (JBPs) with key accounts, negotiate trading terms, and monitor execution.
  • Collaborate with Key Account Executives to drive sales initiatives, promotions, and channel expansion.
  • Ensure consistent execution of merchandising, planogram compliance, and in-store visibility programs.

3) Retail Store Oversight

  • Provide strategic guidance and operational oversight of retail store performance through the Sales Operations Executive.
  • Monitor store-level KPIs such as sales, footfall, conversion rates, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure retail operations, merchandising, and in-store promotions align with brand and corporate strategies
    • Evaluate store processes, workforce management, and execution standards to optimize efficiency and profitability.

4) Trade Marketing & Promotions

  • Collaborate with Trade Marketing to plan, execute, and evaluate trade promotions, seasonal campaigns, and in-store activations.
  • Assess ROI and effectiveness of trade programs and recommend improvements for future campaigns
  • Provide input into pricing, pack changes, and new product launches to maximize sales and competitiveness.
  • Ensure timely and effective communication of promotional plans to internal teams and retail partners.

5) Forecasting, Reporting & Performance Management

  • Monitor and review sales performance against forecasts and targets.
  • Ensure accuracy of category-level and channel-level sales forecasts
  • Prepare reports on sales performance, promotional ROI, and market trends for management review.
  • Lead business reviews with internal teams and external partners to track performance and implement corrective actions.

6) Pricing & Market Intelligence

  • Conduct competitor price surveys, track industry trends, and gather market insights to inform pricing and promotional strategies.
  • Recommend strategic adjustments to maintain competitiveness and protect profit ability.
  • Stay updated on category developments and consumer behavior to anticipate opportunities and risks.

7) Budget & Financial Management

  • Manage trade and A&P budgets, ensuring expenses are aligned with approved plans and accurately tracked.
  • Optimize spending and trade investments to maximize ROI and profitability.
  • Review P&L performance and take necessary action to achieve financial targets.

8 ) Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and mentor Key Account and Sales Operations Executives to develop capabilities and achieve performance goals.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the sales organization.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Trade Marketing, Logistics, and Finance teams to ensure seamless execution of initiatives.

9) Strategic & Corporate Planning

  • Contribute to the formulation and execution of corporate sales and trade strategies, including channel segmentation, distribution expansion, and brand-building initiatives.
    • Support long-term growth planning through data-driven insights and structured execution.
  • Drive alignment between retail, trade, and corporate strategies to achieve sustainable business growth.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5–8 years of sales / trade experience in FMCG or consumer goods.
  • Proven track record in channel strategy, key account management, and retail oversight.

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Executive/ Trade Assistant Manager (SOC) to join our Trade Management team. This role supports the Trade Manager in maximizing service profitability, managing slot capacity, and driving trade efficiency. The position involves preparing and overseeing voyage allocations, monitoring market trends and demand forecasts, and ensuring effective slot cost management. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Commercial, Customer Service, Network, and Operations teams to improve utilization, align pricing strategies, and support business growth.
Key Focus Areas
Capacity & Allocation Management:
Manage voyage-based slot allocations, oversee slot purchase/sell/swap activities, and adjust deployment to optimize vessel utilization.
Profitability Analysis:
Prepare volume, revenue, and budget reports; analyze variances; and recommend strategies to improve trade performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with Commercial, Operations, and external partners to adjust schedules and ensure smooth execution.
Pricing & MRG Support:
Assist in developing Minimum Rate Guidelines (MRGs), review sub-MRG requests, and support trade head synergy calls.
Market & Sales Support:
Work with Sales on pricing reviews, competitor benchmarking, overbooking strategies, and slot release thresholds.
Network & Operations Liaison:
Share demand forecasts, highlight cost-saving opportunities, and contribute to route deployment decisions.
Ideal Candidate
The role is best suited for candidates with a
container shipping line background , familiar with
trade management, slot allocation, pricing, and capacity planning . Strong analytical ability, stakeholder management skills, and a deep understanding of container trade dynamics are essential.
