Airbus Helicopters (AH) will commence operations of its regional Distribution Center located in Singapore in 2025 in order to support its customers across the Asia-Pacific Region.

Airbus Helicopters is committed to ensuring that 95% of parts are delivered to our customer on time and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The Trade Compliance Officer is a key resource to support Airbus in achieving this target.

Reporting to the Regional Export Control Manager, the Airbus Helicopters Distribution Centre - Singapore (AHDC-S) Trade Compliance Officer will be primarily responsible for managing the day-to-day trade compliance activities within the Singapore warehouse, and other AH sites across the APAC region as required. This will primarily involve ensuring compliance with national and international export control laws and sanctions regimes, customs regulations and conformance with internal company policies and procedures.

  • Implementation of Airbus trade compliance policies and procedures for AH import/export operations in the APAC region.
  • Develop and deploy Internal Compliance Program and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for Trade Compliance activities within the AHDC-S and other AH sites within the region.
  • Provide guidance on customs compliance to internal stakeholders.
  • Implement best practices and process improvements.
  • Work closely with external service providers to ensure timely clearance operations for imports and exports.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and resources to ensure data integrity related to tariff classification, country of origin, and regulatory information for Customs and Government Agencies.
  • Determine the Export classification and Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HS) classification for hardware and technical information.
  • Develop and implement audit programs to verify accuracy in customs declarations.
  • Support Audits, Corporate Visits and Regulators as required.
  • Supervise pre- and post-entry audits of customs declarations and logistics providers; ensure corrective actions for non-compliance.
  • Support the applications for required export and import licenses.
  • Support the Risk assessment for the APAC region.
  • Provide support to the wider Airbus regional Trade Compliance team
  • Apply and maintain licenses and End User Undertakings.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Release export/import reports to local authorities in consultation with the Regional Export Control Manager
  • Define and maintain Trade Compliance KPI’s for the platform.
  • Military End Use/User ( MEU) vetting
  • Sanctions Compliance

Personal & Interpersonal Skills

  • Extensive experience working in a multinational environment advising on international trade matters.
  • Business acumen and ethical behaviour in a heavily regulated business environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills; sound business judgment; ability to appropriately involve others in consultations and decisions.
  • Excellent writing skills required to write and edit policies and procedures, reports and memorandums.
  • Strong relationship building, networking, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High degree of initiative, credibility, independence, integrity, confidentiality and trust.
  • Ability to quickly earn the respect of senior management in order to be credible and effective in this complex and constantly-developing environment.

Qualification & Professional Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree with 8 to 15 years of logistics and trade compliance experience in the Aerospace Industry.
  • Experience in managing APAC countries Export and Import Licensing requirements
  • In-depth knowledge of APAC Customs regulations, import/export regulations, Sanctions and international trade requirements
  • Ability to work in an international environment
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills; experience in risk management and gap analysis
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; able to present effectively at all levels.
  • Working experiences with SAP and within the aviation industry would be an added advantage

Job Summary

This position will be responsible to coordinate, execute and maintain trade related programs for West Asia Pacific (APAC) locations. The focus will be on executing and maintaining compliance for West products, procurement and sales activities for APAC cross-border transactions. The role is responsible to ensure West transactions are compliant with APAC national, regional and local import and export laws and requirements and to ensure efficient and consistent cross border transactions.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring West APAC import and export declarations adhere to applicable SOP’s to minimize compliance exposure and to optimize costs
  • Executes cross border activities according to the APAC trade compliance manuals and procedures
  • Works with West sites, 3rd party service providers, and customs broker(s) to resolve issues and questions that arise regarding day-to-day customs entries and export declarations
  • Provides trade compliance related codes such as HS, export control codes, Partner Government Agency codes, and other compliance related master data for APAC imported and exported products
  • Maintain and, as necessary, retrieves required records relating to import and export affairs.
  • Prepares, submits and maintains special compliance related documentation to support import/export declarations
  • Provides transactional support for duty optimization programs such as Free Trade Agreements
  • Conducts post-entry audits---Coordinate any Post Entry Corrections, where necessary, with West-designated Customs Broker
  • Reviews and manages documentation required for import/export declarations, use of Free Trade Agreements, Preferential Duty Programs and Duty Drawback Programs
  • Participates in and supports operational projects involving or impacting Trade Compliance at West APAC facilities (e.g. systems implementations, new business models, etc.)
  • Participates in cost-saving and process improvement initiatives for Trade Compliance activities
  • Other duties as assigned

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree Business, International Trade, Logistics, or other relevant field, or equivalent related experience required

Work Experience

  • Minimum 3 years Related experience required

Preferred Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Working knowledge of APAC related trade frameworks such as ASEAN, and familiarity with import/export regulations in China, Japan, Singapore, and South Korea.
  • AEO certification/program knowledge
  • Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
  • Support and contribute in Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target

The successful applicant will be responsible for oversight and leadership of all activities with the compliance regulatory authorities of Korea, Taiwan, China, Japan, Malaysia, & Singapore, along with other government agencies and manage a team of 5 direct reports regionally.

Key Responsibilities


  • Assist the Global Compliance Director to assess the impacts of changes to regulations in the region and develop and maintain policies and work procedures for the Asia Compliance team.
  • Ensure proper implementation of processes to comply with export control regulations for major countries worldwide, including:
  • US export control regulations and US Export Control Classification Number (ECCN)
  • Regional export control laws and regulations, including those from China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan.
  • Implement compliance processes to comply with rules and regulations issued by MOTIE Korea, MOFCOM China, BOFT Taiwan, METI Japan, MITI Malaysia, Singapore Customs, and others as required.
  • Manage import and export processes in the region, including Harmonized Tariff Schedule and Country of Origin classification, including coordinating with Product Managers, Chemists, & Engineers to ensure correct classifications.
  • Recommend, manage, implement, and maintain regional data for input to Entegris’ Global Trade System (GTS) and ensure said system is operating pursuant to applicable law
  • Establish and manage positive business relationships with key stakeholders, subsidiaries and business teams.
  • Provide guidance and compliance trainings to cross-functional groups throughout the Asia organization.
  • Interface with multiple functional teams, to validate critical trade compliance data elements identified within import and/or export transactions.
  • Monitor data to ensure proper compliance.
  • Develop organizational capability and increase retention of high-value personnel.


Requisite Criteria & Skills


  • 10+ years of experience in international trade compliance related field. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and combination of experience will also be considered.
  • Strong understanding of Trade Compliance principles and proven track record in Asia region.

Job Summary

This position will be responsible to coordinate, execute and maintain trade related programs for West Asia Pacific (APAC) locations. The focus will be on executing and maintaining compliance for West products, procurement and sales activities for APAC cross-border transactions. The role is responsible to ensure West transactions are compliant with APAC national, regional and local import and export laws and requirements and to ensure efficient and consistent cross border transactions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for ensuring West APAC import and export declarations adhere to applicable SOP’s to minimize compliance exposure and to optimize costs
  • Executes cross border activities according to the APAC trade compliance manuals and procedures
  • Works with West sites, 3rd party service providers, and customs broker(s) to resolve issues and questions that arise regarding day-to-day customs entries and export declarations
  • Provides trade compliance related codes such as HS, export control codes, Partner Government Agency codes, and other compliance related master data for APAC imported and exported products
  • Maintain and, as necessary, retrieves required records relating to import and export affairs.
  • Prepares, submits and maintains special compliance related documentation to support import/export declarations
  • Provides transactional support for duty optimization programs such as Free Trade Agreements
  • Conducts post-entry audits---Coordinate any Post Entry Corrections, where necessary, with West-designated Customs Broker
  • Reviews and manages documentation required for import/export declarations, use of Free Trade Agreements, Preferential Duty Programs and Duty Drawback Programs
  • Participates in and supports operational projects involving or impacting Trade Compliance at West APAC facilities (e.g. systems implementations, new business models, etc.)
  • Participates in cost-saving and process improvement initiatives for Trade Compliance activities
  • Other duties as assigned
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree Business, International Trade, Logistics, or other relevant field, or equivalent related experience required
Work Experience
  • Minimum 3 years Related experience required
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of APAC related trade frameworks such as ASEAN, and familiarity with import/export regulations in China, Japan, Singapore, and South Korea.
  • AEO certification/program knowledge
  • Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
  • Support and contribute in Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target
  • Able to comply with the company’s safety policy always

**Job Description**
- Policy and Procedure Management: Oversee and maintain policies and procedures, including trade compliance, export control, and internal controls, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.
- Internal Controls and Monitoring: Design and monitor internal compliance controls, conduct regular reviews, and provide recommendations for improvements to prevent policy violations and ensure effective risk management.
- Compliance Monitoring: Conduct regular and ad-hoc compliance reviews across business units, assess adherence to policies and regulations, and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
- Export Control: Assign Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN), ensure compliance with trade agreements and export regulations, and liaise with the group on trade compliance and export control matters to ensure global alignment.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed compliance reports, provide regular updates to management, and maintain accurate records of all compliance-related activities and findings.
- Risk Assessment: Collaborate with departments to assess compliance risks, identify emerging regulatory changes, and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance the effectiveness of compliance controls and procedures.
- Audit Support: Assist with statutory audits, regulatory inspections, and other external assessments to ensure compliance.
- Additional Duties: Perform any other official duties as assigned.
**Job Requirements**
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in risk, compliance, and internal controls.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations and risk management principles.
- Experience in a multinational organization with a focus on the Asia-Pacific region is an advantage.
- Responsible, detail-oriented, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A collaborative team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
