Assembly & Test Central Planning Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you’re a key member of a team responsible for modeling backend capacity for our business plans and scenarios. You will get exposure to our product life cycle management process at Micron where products move from conceptual to high volume manufacturing. You will be responsible for optimizing product loading across our global backend network. You will also be working extensively with a standardized capacity model called CSM which has been adopted by all manufacturing sites.
You'll interact and network with diverse groups such as Supply Chain NPO, Engineering, Central Planning, Finance, Site IE and ATCP Factory Network Team to align on strategy and capacity across our backend manufacturing sites.
Responsibilities and duties
Manage Capacity Supermodel (CSM)
Drive global alignment on Capacity Supermodel (CSM) functionality improvements
Drive accuracy in model across backend network
Perform analysis to verify model accuracy
Oversees audit and maintenance of data input in model periodically
Create/map RDMs from lists sent out weekly by the Data Management Specialist teams
Reflect New TOR in CSM for QSR
ATCSP Modelling NUDD team ensure that site IEs capture correct workstation, process steps, EPT, overhead and TOR (tool of record) for NPI devices during modelled at the right model.
To lead on quarterly MOR modeling and alignment with TSE/PDE engineering and site IE teams on capacity modeling assumptions
Capacity Assessment Request (CAR) Backend Scenario
We audit CSM for known model change input from PDE /TSE with signal from CAR/CCB/ BECL from assembly, test and module.
We help sites IE that reach out to engineering team to troubleshoot and work with SPM on site capacity issues related to CSM setup/ Util report error.
We collaborate with Site IE /TSE/PDE/ATCP to sync network capacity strategy by integrating FOAK tools for engineering and HVM.
We provide capacity and tooling cost insight for TSE/PDE for backend scenario.
Drive global alignment on Capacity Supermodel (CSM) functionality improvements
Drive accuracy and align standard in model EPT/utilization across backend network
NUDD Contingency List Planning on MOR and CCB changes
We work with engineering partner on capacity modeling on NUDD demand signal from PLM Go/ CAR/BECL.
We guide Site IE to create and reflect NUDD capacity response from backend demand signal in CSM.
What we are looking for:
Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, Data Science, Supply Chain, or Operations Management
2+ years’ experience either in business operations, data science, finance, manufacturing, or supply chain

We are looking for a Director, Scenario and Capital Central Planning, Assembly and Test
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Senior Director, Assembly & Test, Central Planning, you will be directly responsible for leading scenario planning and expansion strategy across internal and external Assembly & Test sites to support capacity growth, diversification and long-term strategy.
You will develop and integrate planning models that optimize Micron’s footprint across internal factories and subcontractor partnerships (OSATs).
You will lead and govern the budgeting, funding process and approvals for the entire Assembly & Test capital management, ensuring cost-effective investment decisions for optimized CAPEX management across the Assembly & Test network.
You will build & drive a comprehensive site strategy framework, factoring in product roadmaps, incentive compliance, customer-specific requirements and regional risk mitigations.

Capacity Optimization & Space Planning – optimize space planning and improve space modelling for internal factories/sites to support current and future production needs. Lead strategic space planning initiatives, including Total Utility Maintenance (TUM) management and addressing complexities with long-lead time items.
Scenario Planning – engage with leadership across multiple sites to ensure alignment and consistency in strategic initiatives, manage & refine scenario planning processes to address the increased complexity of operating multiple sites and a diversified Assembly & Test network
Strategy & Risk Management – develop & implement a robust mid- and long-term risk management strategy to mitigate global supply chain uncertainties and operational challenges, ensuring the Assembly & Test network is resilient to disruptions, with contingency plans in place for key risk factors
Cost Optimization Initiatives – identify and lead cost-saving initiatives, including capital investment strategies, loading optimization between internal and external capacity, and improving workstation fungibility to reduce capital expenditures
Process & Systems Improvement – lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance capacity planning processes, tools, and systems. Drive initiatives to streamline workflows and improve scalability across the global network
Team Leadership & Development – build and mentor a high-performing team that is collaborative, innovative, and focused on driving continuous improvements in capacity planning and optimization

Qualifications
You must have at least a bachelor’s degree with at least 15 years of proven experience in capacity planning, operations management or strategic planning, preferably within Assembly & Test in the Semiconductor industry or high value/high volume manufacturing with at least 7 years in a people management role. You must have proven experience in scenario planning, expansion modelling, CAPEX governance and risk management within a global manufacturing network. You should possess strong analytical and decision-making skills, with expertise in capital investment strategies and deep expertise in strategic footprint planning and manufacturing network design. You must possess excellent communication & interpersonal skills with the ability to work at all levels. Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, especially in assembly & test is highly advantageous.
