SUMMARY:
The position will be responsible to support various development works of RF, analog and digital IC's test and engineering activities such as testers, probers and handlers in the area of designing, tooling and test circuit modification.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work closely with Test Development Engineers, Mechanical Engineers to support Hardware, fixture and Mechanical parts development and validation.
- Analog and DC test fixture building, maintenance and debugging, Electromechanical package handling equipment maintenance and trouble-shooting
- Create and update new equipment procedures like buy-off/Qualification specifications, test fixturing, and maintaining adequate inventory of test equipment and test fixturing components
- Develop metrics that provide data for equipment measurement, process/yield improvement and participating in various ATE operation cost reduction projects and/or drive towards achieving the targets set

REQUIREMENTS:
- Electronic/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience in a semiconductor test environment with at least 5 year of test industry experience in the followings:
- Experience in high volume Analog IC manufacturing test operations using commercial ATE RF test systems from LTXC, DiamondX, Advantest and Teradyne
- Experience in Wafer probe stations and IC handlers like Epson, Hontech and Synax or TEL, TSK wafer probe stations
- Experience in Test H/W design, tooling and maintenance.
- Hands on skill on hardware design software such as Auto-CAD, Solidworks is highly desirable
- Solid understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals.
- Passionated about new development supporting production and fixture development, invention design.
- Understanding modern ATE systems and their key components' operation are required

Job Objectives
To develop, transfer and optimise test set-ups and capabilities developed by NPD test development team aligned to the company's technology and product roadmap for production, integrating them with in-house pilot or contract manufacturers' manufacturing capabilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, transfer and optimise test methodologies, set-ups, and testing plans and procedures to characterize the optical, electrical, RF, and thermal performance of optoelectronic devices, including but not limited to transceivers, FP lasers, DFB lasers, gain chips, SLEDs, semiconductor optical amplifiers, electro-absorption modulators/lasers, photonic integrated circuits and their packaged modules, as well as photonic systems such as external cavity lasers, to meet targeted design goals and mass production requirements.
- Perform test and characterization runs to support the test requirements of New Product Innovation, New Requirement Engineering, Request for Customization, and Product Improvement projects for both pilot and mass production.
- Work closely with the wafer fab, assembly and packaging, design, and product teams of both in-house and outsourced partners.
- Analysis of measured test results together with correlation and provide feedback to product and R&D engineers to improve design requirements and simulation results for continual yield improvements to achieve production yield and productivity targets.
- Generate test reports with measurement results and detailed analyses in a timely manner.
- Contribute actively to the build-up of test and characterization capabilities for both pilot and mass production manufacturing sites, including maintenance of test set-ups and jigs and calibration of the measurement instrumentation, as well as software control and automation of the set-ups.
Qualification Guidelines
Minimum Education
- Post-graduate degree (MSc/MPhil/PhD/EngD or equivalent) in Optoelectronics/Photonics/Electronics/Electrical Engineering/Physics or similar.
- Training in semiconductor-based light-emitting optoelectronics is preferred.
Minimum Experience
- Minimum of 5 years' working experience with technical background in optoelectronics, optical components, and photonic device systems and sub systems.
- Proven working experience in the optoelectronics manufacturing industry.
Specific Knowledge / Skills
