Summary

ABI Research seeks intellectually curious analysts at all levels, from entry-level to mid-level. Reporting to one of our group Vice Presidents, successful candidates will contribute to one or more of our research areas and will work as a part of an ambitious team to produce premium quantitative and qualitative analysis. Specific coverage areas will be determined based upon the candidate’s interests, experience, and client demand.

Specific responsibilities include:

  1. Author syndicated research reports, market forecasts, and articles covering technologies and related markets.
  2. Work on custom research and consulting projects, providing leadership on approach and methodology.
  3. Represent ABI Research as a key expert in our coverage areas.
  4. Interview key stakeholders across the entire technology supply chain and understand how emerging technologies will make their way into the marketplace.
  5. Prepare presentations and participate in conferences, webinars, and online events.
  6. Be an active team member and own a significant part of the overall research agenda, including commercial activities.
  7. Support and share expertise with other ABI Research analysts.
  8. Support sales and business development activities by preparing customer-specific analysis, and by participating in key meetings with clients, prospects, and partners.

As a team, we mostly use Python, C++ , Java and SQL with a variety of open-source tools along with proprietary solutions.


THE ROLE

  • Support, trouble shoot and performance tune our Vertica databases
  • Develop tools to organize, manage and ensure the quality of petabytes of market data using distributed file systems and databases

  • Proactively engage with our quants and traders to help identify and execute requirements
  • Improve quality of work product for our trading teams and the wider development community at Virtu by encouraging the best development practices and keeping up to date with new language features and frameworks

  • Experience in managing and working with large datasets and SQL-like databases
