Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report site-related issues and project progress to the Facilities or Maintenance Manager.
  • Supervise Minor Works and A&A projects ensuring all technical submissions are reviewed and approved by the client.
  • Coordinate with project teams and maintenance operations for seamless integration of works.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Diploma in Engineering (Building, Mechanical, Electrical) or other relevant disciplines.

The Technical Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading the technical service delivery team to ensure that all KONE elevators and escalators at the client site operate with minimal downtime and maximum reliability. What will you be doing?
1. Technical Oversight & Issue Resolution
Lead the diagnosis and resolution of complex technical issues, including equipment defects, breakdowns, and performance anomalies.
Oversee and manage replacement and conversion works to ensure equipment is upgraded or restored to optimal condition.
Collaborate with THD and product support teams to address recurring technical challenges and implement long-term solutions.
2. Service Delivery & Performance Monitoring
Ensure timely and high-quality service delivery across all maintenance activities.
Monitor equipment performance metrics and proactively address potential issues before they escalate.
Implement preventive and corrective maintenance strategies to reduce breakdowns and entrapments.
3. Client Relationship Management
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for the client, ensuring clear communication and prompt resolution of concerns.
Conduct regular audits and service reviews with the client to maintain transparency and trust.
Provide technical consultation and recommendations to improve equipment performance and lifecycle.
4. Team Leadership & Development
Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Maintenance Technicians to enhance their technical skills and service mindset.
Conduct regular performance reviews, identify training needs, and facilitate continuous learning opportunities.
Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and excellence within the team.
5. Reporting & Documentation
Prepare and submit detailed breakdown and entrapment reports as required by the client, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Maintain comprehensive records of service activities, technical interventions, and equipment history.
Analyse service data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

Architect and define the global technical specification for PIL's 600,000 TEU container fleet, synthesizing industry standards (e.g., ISO, IICL, CSC), market benchmarking (of competitors specification), and innovative materials science (different materials for container parts, i.e. wood, bamboo, nylon, steel, composite options, etc.) to enhance durability, longevity, and operational efficiency.
  • Advanced Quality Assurance & Newbuilding Governance. Lead comprehensive on-site new-building inspections, employ sophisticated quality control methodologies (e.g., manage & deploy specialist inspectors, lab-testing of material specimens, gauges to determine paint thickness and zinc contents, measurement of container dimension tolerance, load testing to ensure safety rating, etc.) validate conformance with PIL's engineered specifications and mitigate future lifecycle costs.
  • Global Repair Management & Cost Engineering. Implement a globally consistent process for managing Maintenance and Repair (M&R) costs. This includes the forensic verification of repair estimates (e.g. review common repair items, estimates accuracy, repair quality, man-hour check, tariff check, material cost, material quality, etc.) from global offices to ensure accuracy and cost-effectiveness.
  • Remote Operational Vendor Management. Provide expert remote guidance and oversight to Regional Offices (RO) and frontline teams on complex repair activities, ensuring global standards are upheld.
  • Conduct rigorous on-site audits of container depots and related facilities to vet their technical capabilities, repair quality, and compliance with PIL's safety and operational protocols.

MUST HAVE:

  • Degree in relevant disciplines such as Engineering
  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant expertise in container engineering and manufacturing, and conducting depot inspection, repair or container factories
  • Experience in container technical, inspection and repair standards, i.e. IICL, UCIRIC, ISO, CSC etc
  • Well verse in cost management and analytics

Technical Specialist, Maintenance & Service

Role Purpose:

  • Execute lean & efficient equipment maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure excellent availability levels of most types of existing manufacturing equipment in order to disturbance free production.
  • Ensure PM (Planned Maintenance) is completed on time, in good quality and independently.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Perform and complete PM tasks for production equipment in a timely manner
  • Perform replenishment orders for spare part used in production equipment
  • Communicate and work directly with relevant teams (Production, QM, IE and etc) for the machine and process related topics
  • Supporting M+S engineer for issues related to production equipment and process
  • Supporting production equipment relocation activity
  • Maintain 5S & safety in the workplace (production area, personal workstation, maintenance area, chemical room, and etc.)
  • Supporting production equipment readiness activities

    Perform material preparation and material top-up of indirect material to the production equipment (chemical, resin, hardener, lacquer, glue, etc.)

    Perform replenishment orders of Indirect Material and chemical for production equipment usage

    Perform vessel / tank cleaning

    Perform deep-cleaning for production equipment.

    Chemical storage in production based on the EHS in-house requirement

    Waste disposal based on the EHS in-house requirements
  • Performing tasks as assigned/given by the superior

Role Requirements:

  • Technical Certificate in Mechatronics/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Manufacturing
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge in maintenance task or setting up machine / process
  • Good in Microsoft Applications i.e. Word, Excel, Access
  • Understanding of ERP system and manufacturing order
  • Exposure to SMT technology equipment related / wave soldering equipment is advantageous
  • No chemical allergies or color blindness as work require

Execute lean & efficient equipment maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure excellent availability levels of most types of existing manufacturing equipment in order to support disturbance‐free production. Ensure PM (Planned Maintenance) is completed on time, in good quality and independently.
Role Responsibilities
Perform and complete PM tasks for production equipment in a timely manner.
Perform replenishment orders for spare parts used in production equipment.
Communicate and work directly with relevant teams (Production, QM, IE, etc.) for machine and process related topics.
Support M+S engineer for issues related to production equipment and process.
Support production equipment relocation activity.
Maintain 5S & safety in the workplace (production area, personal workstation, maintenance area, chemical room, etc.).
Support production equipment readiness activities.
Material preparation and top‐up of indirect material to production equipment (chemical, resin, hardener, lacquer, glue, etc.).
Replenishment orders of indirect material and chemicals for production equipment usage.
Perform vessel / tank cleaning.
Perform deep cleaning for production equipment.
Manage chemical storage in production based on EHS in‐house requirements.
Disposal of waste based on EHS in‐house requirements.
Perform tasks as assigned by the superior.
Role Requirements
Technical certificate in Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics or Manufacturing.
Good written and spoken English with at least 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of maintenance tasks or setting up machine/process.
Good in Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, Access.
Understanding of ERP system and manufacturing order.
Exposure to SMT technology equipment related / wave soldering equipment is advantageous.
No chemical allergies or color blindness.
Results oriented, able to work independently but also actively as part of a team.
