About the Role:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Variation Order (VO) and Change Administration:

  • Assist in the preparation, tracking, review, processing and documentation of Variation Orders (VO) for changes.
  • Ensure that all VO claims are well-documented and justified with proper evidence, including costs, time extensions, and changes in scope and presented them in chronological order.
  • Monitor and track the status of VO claims throughout the lifecycle of the project.

  • Communicate and coordinate with Area Leads, Commercial Manager, Contracts Manager, Change Manager, etc. to assess the validity and impact of claims.

4. Cost Impact and Time Extension Analysis:

  • Support the team in evaluating the cost impact of variations on the project, including resource and all associated cost.
  • Provide assistance in collating information from the Scheduling Team in assessing the impact of variations on the project timeline and provide input for potential time extension claims to be undertaken by the Contracts Manager, if required.
  • Monitor the budget and schedule to ensure that changes do not result in unapproved cost overruns or delays.

5. Compliance and Contractual Support:

  • Ensure that all VO claims and variations are in compliance with the terms and conditions of the contract.
  • Assist in reviewing contracts, change orders, and project documentation to ensure all claims are legitimate and well-supported.
  • Assist Contracts Manager and Legal Team in preparing necessary documents for disputes, including supporting evidence, justifications, and expert reports.

6. Documentation Control and Reporting:

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Technical Knowledge: Minimum of 10-15 years of experience and a strong understanding of Design Management, construction contracts, variation orders, and change management processes, also preferably within large infrastructure or airport projects.

  • Experience : Minimum of 5 years of experience in claims management, preferably within large infrastructure or airport projects.
  • Technical Knowledge : Minimum of 10-15 years of experience and a strong understanding of Design Management, construction contracts, variation orders, and change management processes, also preferably within large infrastructure or airport projects.
  • Software Proficiency : Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Communication Skills : Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing claims reports and liaision.
  • Analytical Skills : Ability to analyse cost impacts, delays, and technical issues associated with variation orders.
  • Attention to Detail : High level of accuracy and attention to detail in documentation and claim assessments.
  • Organised: Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation.
  • Problem-Solving : Strong ability to resolve issues with minimum guidance.
