Job Summary
Leads the development and execution of open innovation initiatives (e.g. collaborating with startups, etc) to identify, pilot and scale breakthrough technologies and business models
Job Responsibilities
Innovation Strategy
- Translate corporate strategy into innovation roadmaps and thematic priorities (e.g. MaaS, battery / EV infrastructure, etc)
Open Innovation Management
- Identify, evaluate and onboard startups, scaleups and partners aligned with the strategic technologies and business priorities
- Design and implement open calls, hackathons, etc and establish governance processes, templates / tools to monitor progress, risks and deliverable
- Maintain portfolio of innovation projects and partners
- Manage the end-to-end innovation funnel – from idea sourcing, evaluation to POC / Pilot deployment
Communication & Culture Building
- Promote culture of innovation through internal engagement programs, demo, showcases and learning sessions
Requirements
- 6 – 10 years of experience in Innovation, R&D, product development or startup collaboration, ideally within automotive, mobility or tech sectors
- Degree or related experience in Innovation, R&D, product development or startup collaboration, ideally within automotive, mobility or tech sectors
- Experience in managing open innovation programs or startup accelerators
- Familiarity with innovation ecosystems (startups, VCs, academia) around Asia Region
- Ability to evaluate technical and commercial viability of emerging technologies
- Entrepreneurial mindset with experience in agile and lean innovation methods
- Strong understanding of future mobility trends (EVs, ADAS, AI, sustainability)
- Good business acumen and strong communication ability to influence across level
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and work in dynamic, multicultural environments
- Flexibility to travel to Southeast Asia Region
Skillsets (Nice to Have)
- Technical background in areas such as electrification, ADAS, AI/ML, IOT / Connected Device, Mobility data ecosystem, Sustainaibility, etc
- Capability to coach teams on innovation practices
