  • Teaching and Team Actions

  • Work with individual students or groups of students, in co-operation with Class Teacher

  • Support the learning needs of students in the class, under the direction of the Class Teacher
  • Whilst teaching, act consistently with the Class Teacher, and our school's Teaching and Learning Policy and curriculum documentation

Main Responsibilities

The Role

The Teaching Assistant (TA) plays a vital role in supporting the class or specialist teacher to enhance students' learning experiences and outcomes. Key Responsibilities

To Students:

  • Help with arranging classrooms before each term begins and dismantling and packing up at the end of the academic year.
  • Take joint responsibility with the class teacher for the educational progress and well-being of every student in the class.
  • Takes part in IEP conferences and reviews, working with parents, School Leadership, Inclusion Coordinators, and other professionals or stakeholders involved with the student.
Pastoral & Supervision:

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Minimum Diploma holder or equivalent in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Counselling, Psychology or related field.

  • Experience with EAL/Learning Support class will be desirable.
