Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

We are looking for a skilled Level 2 Operations Support Engineer with strong Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) experience to provide operational support for mission-critical systems. You will be responsible for managing incidents, performing system maintenance, coordinating with resolver teams, and ensuring service uptime for both internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Level 2 support in line with SLAs and customer contracts.
  • Maintain and monitor supported systems (Linux/Windows), ensuring stability and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, escalating to specialist teams when needed.
  • Act as a point of contact for customers during major incidents, ensuring clear communication.
  • Perform proactive diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and fault analysis.
  • Manage spare parts, hardware replacements, and vendor coordination.
  • Implement system changes, configuration updates, and support deployments.
  • Follow industry best practices to ensure high-quality service and infrastructure operations.
  • Standard office hour.

Must-Have Qualifications & Skills:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or related field.
  • 3 to 8 years of hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7/8), including patching, tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in Level 2 infrastructure or operations support roles.
  • Experience with VMware (vSphere, vCenter), Windows Server (2016/2019), and clustering.
  • Familiarity with enterprise tools such as IBM MQ, Apache/Tomcat, and monitoring tools (Nagios, eG).
  • Exposure to security tools (McAfee, Nessus), load balancers (F5), and firewalls (Palo Alto, Checkpoint).
  • Scripting in Bash, Python, or Perl and basic Java debugging.
  • Experience with storage/backup systems (DELL EMC, Veritas) and DC failover testing.
  • ITIL Foundation v3 and/or Red Hat/VMware certifications are a plus.
