The System Safety Engineer is in charge of the continuous identification, analysis, and implementation of occupational safety framework to ensure safe work environment to assure SBM Offshore reputation as a reference in Occupational Safety for Oil in Gas industry by sustaining positive safety records, while assuring regulatory compliance.You develop and maintain global standards, processes and procedures related to Occupational Safety and Process Safety to safeguard safety of company's employees, subcontractors and assets.
You support the management of the Occupational Safety framework.You develop, implement, and ensure the verification of standards and procedures in alignment with Group strategy, applicable regulations, and industry best practices.You develop, implement, update, and improve the Occupational Safety Training Framework.You monitor, consolidate, and analyze lagging KPIs.You supervise and support external consultants providing services for the discipline.
Competency
Understand incident classifications and tiers, ability to report and record incidents in relevant incident recording platform. Ability to develop incident investigation scope and perform incident investigation, using root cause analysis methodologies.
Ability to apply the audit methodology and carries out audit procedures in planning and scoping, executing andandor supervising audit engagements. Ability to compile sufficient evidence to support conclusions, present findings and propose recommendations that are relevant and practical to the organization, and follow-up to ensure that actions are effectively implemented.Identify causes of poor performance or gaps by using effective root cause analysis. Ability to demonstrate a solution-driven mindset, based on people, processes or plant.
Ability to recognise changes to the established baseline and the associated risks. Ability to implement established management of change process to effectively manage change to satisfactory closure.
Knowledge and ability to apply the management system standards, as for example ISO 9000, ISO 14000 and ISO 45000, or ISRS and PSM frameworks to SBM's business activities.
8+ years in offshore or chemical industry business.Solid experience in controls of work of work activities.Solid knowledge and experience on main safety standards such as OSHA, ISO45001, IOGP, HSEUK, etc.
Bachelor degree in occupational health and safety, environmental, industrial hygiene, or related areas.
