Meta is seeking a Generator Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our Data Center Facility Operations team. Our Data Centers serve as the foundation upon which our software operates to meet the demands of our customers. The Generator SME will be responsible for being the emergency and back-up generator system operations and maintenance expert, as well as fire alarm safety system. The candidate will need to be experienced in all aspects of generator theory, operations and maintenance of the complete generator system and have a working knowledge of electrical distribution and general mechanical systems. The candidate will also need to be knowledgeable in Fire Detection and Alarm Systems and Fire Protection Systems.

Generator Subject Matter Expert Responsibilities:

• Serve as technical/consultative resource for Emergency Generators and supporting equipment, Fire Detection and Alarm System and the Fire Protection System with an emphasis on practical/field application
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain generators, all associated fuel systems, Fire Detection and Alarm System and Fire Protection System
• Assist in authoring processes and procedures
• Analyze data, develop metrics, and identify trends related to generator reliability. Contribute to generator maintenance and repair strategy
• Assist with regulatory compliance and reporting related to air quality and emissions
• On-site lead for root cause analysis activities in area of expertise
• Provide training to critical facility engineers on generators and supporting equipment, Fire Detection and Alarm System and Fire Protection System
• Manage generator vendor relationships, scheduling, and work scope
• Supervise and validate generator vendor-performed activities (startup, commissioning, maintenance, etc.)
• Ensure appropriate cross-functional collaboration between local SME and EHS teams
• Other duties as required to support the operation of Meta data centers
  
  

• High school diploma or equivalent Bachelor’s degree or trade certification in related field plus 3+ years relevant industry experience
• 6+ years of experience as a trade or manufacturer generator technician, or 6+ years of generator experience in critical operations
• Knowledge of applicable local regulations pertaining to Fuel Storage, Fire Detection and Alarm Systems and Fire Protection systems
• Knowledge of power generation and transfer systems
• Knowledge of diesel fuel system components, fuel storage and fuel quality management
• Experience working in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment
• Experience in comprehending plans, specifications, and equipment shop drawings
• Experience interpreting blueprints/CAD drawings
  
  

• Experience in a data center or other critical environment (pharma, clean room, medical, power production, etc.)
• Experience with PLC control systems

As a Subject Matter Expert, you will be responsible for accurately labeling ultrasound data, refining project guidelines, and ensuring high-quality annotations to enhance AI model performance. Your expertise will drive diagnostic accuracy of thyroid detection in advanced AI solutions.

Upon successfully completing the initial phase of the project, you will be eligible to continue contributing to this project as a Subject Matter Expert, based on your performance. You will be prioritized as the Subject Matter Expert for an extended timeline, overseeing project operations and providing advisory support under the guidance of the Project Delivery Manager.

This is a contract role offered on a remote basis.

Responsibilities

1. Precisely identify and assign labels to anatomical structures in ultrasound scans, such as the thyroid, thyroid nodules, blood vessels, strap muscles, and trachea.
2. Ensure all tasks adhere to the project guidelines and standards set by the client.
3. Identify areas where exceptions to the guidelines apply, and based on this, compile clarifying questions to ask the client for project documentation.
4. Participate in client calls where necessary to facilitate clear communication, acting as an intermediary between the internal team and the client.
5. Manage future participants with regular guidance, consistent and constructive feedback, and host training sessions to deliver high-quality data to the client.
6. Training is provided on proprietary annotation tools and platform.

Ideal Profile

1. Hold a medical degree with work experience in radiology or a related field.
2. Technical proficiency in diagnostic medical imaging techniques, particularly ultrasounds, and an openness to learn new annotation technologies and tooling.
3. Excellent attention to detail to identify structures, anomalies, and errors, labeling them with precision.
