The Guardianship Liaison plays a key support role in promoting the welfare, and enhancing the school experience, of the students living in Singapore without their parents. This role offers an exciting opportunity
to contribute to a growing and evolving area of school practice, where innovation and collaboration are key to shaping meaningful support for students under guardianship. Success in this role relies on the ability to build strong, effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders with the goal of ensuring each student is safe, supported, and feels a sense of belonging.
Student Experience & Pastoral Support
- Support guardianship students by fostering a welcoming, inclusive school environment, by building a strong student community.
- Coordinate enrichment opportunities such as wellness sessions, orientation events, and community building activities.
- Proactively encourage participation in co-curriculars, Field Studies, and key school events in partnership with relevant sub-schools.
- Share updates on student well-being, behavior, and engagement with the safeguarding and pastoral teams.
Safeguarding & Compliance
- Work alongside the safeguarding team to identify and respond to concerns related to student living arrangements, well-being and safety. Understand and uphold SAIS Safeguarding Policies and Processes.
- Partner with families and guardians to document accurate guardianship arrangements.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records, in line with school policy and data protection standards.
- Ensure the SAIS Guardianship policy is communicated with all stakeholders and applied consistently.
Collaboration with key stakeholders
- Build community awareness of the needs of guardianship students living away from their parents.
- Engage with parents and guardians to establish positive working relationships and communicate SAIS's expectations and standards of care for students' success.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally, including sub-school teams, Admissions, Counseling, School Nursing, IT and boarding partners.
- Partner with pastoral teams to monitor attendance and academic progress of guardianship students.
- Act as a point of contact for school staff with guardianship-related matters.
- Participate in schoolwide training, to support the learning and development of staff.
- To provide any other reasonable duties delegated by the line manager.
Data Management
- Identify and update guardianship contact information by active engagement with internal stakeholders, including subschools, Compliance, Admission and IT.
- Communicate with parents and guardians on the importance of updating students' living arrangements.
- Collaborate with the IT team to streamline the process of data collection and data updates.
Requirements:
- Degree holder
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with students, parents, and a wide range of school stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to build effective relationships across diverse teams.
- Proactive and able to take initiative.
- Confident working both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience working with children (ideally ages 12–18) in an international or residential school context.
- Background in boarding, education, counseling, or safeguarding is advantageous.
- Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Skilled in managing sensitive or challenging conversations with care and professionalism.
- Sound knowledge of child safeguarding principles and practices.

As a Homework Support Teacher, you'll work with Primary 3 to 5 students — helping them complete their schoolwork, reinforce subject understanding, and build daily confidence in a calm, structured setting.
