We are seeking a capable and technically astute Design Lead to drive the planning and execution of data center network infrastructure design. This role demands deep technical expertise in campus network architecture, fit-out design, and cross-functional collaboration. You will work in a regional team and serve as the primary technical authority, ensuring designs meet operational, safety, and scalability standards across data center projects across APAC.
Role and Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end design of data center network infrastructure including OSP/ISP pathways, POEs, IDF rooms, and server floor layouts.
Collaborate with Engineering, IT Operations, and Construction teams to align design intent with build execution.
Troubleshoot design conflicts, performance gaps, and integration issues during fit-out and commissioning.
Conduct and support site walks, design reviews, and kick-off meetings to validate constructability and compliance.
Interface with contractors, vendors, and global stakeholders to resolve technical roadblocks under tight deadlines.
Manage design documentation, punch lists, and approval workflows for Owner-purchased materials and systems.
Ensure all designs adhere to environmental, safety, and sustainability standards.
Report progress, risks, and design changes to Regional and Client PMs with clear, actionable updates.
Typical Daily Work Tasks
Work with internal stakeholders to ensure delivery of specifications and ordering of materials and equipment are done in a timely manner to ensure approvals are obtained and deployment plans are in place and implemented.
Keep track of and report on key milestones from the commencement of technical fit-out to completion for handover to Operations.
Conduct/drive weekly management and site meetings with GC/AE/Telecoms Contractors
Coordinate with local construction project managers to align priorities and site management.
Work with internal teams to manage ordering, delivery and storage of Owner purchased materials (Vienna, Hyena, Fibers, etc) and parts required for the DC turn ups.
Review and track contractor deliverables.
Perform inspections, surveys & regular site walks.
Maintain checklist/tracker, raise punch items and drive punch list clearance.
Areas of Responsibility (including but not limited to):

Network / Telecom Rooms

Requirements
Minimum 10–15 years' experience in data center network design, with proven track record in campus networks and fit-out projects.
Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Fluent in English.
Strong troubleshooting skills in high-pressure, multi-team environments.
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, global time zones, and diverse stakeholders.
Detail-oriented, organized, and deadline-driven with a continuous improvement mindset.

As a Senior / Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Report to and assist senior personnel in designing civil infrastructure works, primarily for underground rail, road, and viaduct projects, ensuring designs comply with local regulations, safety standards, and engineering codes.

In this role, you will be responsible for software that enables high-performance access including GCS SDKs, the CLI, open-source connectors for Hadoop, Iceberg, and PyTorch, and GCS Fuse. Your mission is to provide first-party support for these frameworks, enabling customers to run their large-scale Analytics and AI/ML workloads. You will be re-architecting the software stack and expanding the integrations.

**Responsibilities**
+ Design, code, and test improvements across the GCS client stack (SDKs, CLI, connectors). Focus on making direct code changes that improve performance, add features, and enhance the overall customer experience.
+ Systematically benchmark GCS client performance for critical AI/ML and analytics workloads. Use profiling and analysis to identify bottlenecks.
+ Debug complex, real-world customer issues. Analyze client-side behavior, trace problems through the stack, and implement robust code changes in the SDKs.
+ Enhance the telemetry and observability of the clients by adding structured logging and metrics that make it faster to diagnose future customer issues and understand performance characteristics in production environments.
+ Actively participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback to team members and improve code quality across the team.
