Job Description

We are seeking multiple full-time Research Assistant(s) who will assist with quantitative data analysis in ongoing projects on the economics and demography of aging, pensions and retirement, as well as health of the elderly. The projects are part of a large 5-year research program (2024-2028) which has collaborators in Singapore and the United States. The Principal Investigator of this project is located at Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy.

The successful candidate(s) must demonstrate competence in quantitative research methods using STATA or R, as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent written and spoken English is essential. Research interest and experience in one or more of the above-listed areas on economics and demography of aging, OR pensions and retirement, OR health of older adults is plus.

This position caters to individuals who are looking to further their skillsets and analytical training to develop a career or pursue further studies in the fields of applied economics or public policy research. As such, we require a minimum of one year of past research work experience as full-time Research Assistant. Please state this work experience clearly in your cover letter. This position is not suitable for fresh graduates or those with part-time/ad-hoc research experience only.

Responsibilities of the full-time Research Assistant(s) include:

• Administrative support for research projects under a 5-year research programme
• Conduct literature reviews
• Assist with collecting, cleaning, and analyzing primary/ secondary data
• Draft/contribute to research reports, policy briefs, and articles
• Prepare presentation materials for stakeholder meetings
• Copy-editing and proof reading
• Any other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• At least a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Demography, or Sociology.
• Candidates with a Master’s degree are encouraged to apply.
• Minimum of one year of past research work experience as full-time Research Assistant.
• Proficient in quantitative research methods using STATA or R.
• Self-motivated and attention to detail.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• The candidate is expected to be physically present in office during the stipulated working hours.

Business Unit and Role Information

Decision Science colleagues will serve as a key member of the Credit and Fraud Risk organization. We seek a thought-leader and a problem-solver who can blend business, technical, and industry best practices when it comes to developing the analyses, models, and algorithms that power our customers’ digital experiences.


This role will lead a team responsible for developing, implementing, and tracking AI/ML models for driving enterprise digital personalization in prospect marketing and automating data capability and model governance.


Our Decision Science teams use industry leading modeling and AI practices to predict customer behavior. We develop, deploy and validate predictive models and support the use of models in economic logic to enable profitable decisions across credit, fraud, marketing and servicing optimization engines.


The role will entail some of the below listed responsibilities:

  • Leading the core customer marketing models development for the Consumer business
  • Planning and delivering of high-performing models, meeting deadlines and ensuring accurate, efficient implementation of models in production systems

We develop, deploy and validate predictive models and support the use of models in economic logic to enable profitable decisions across credit, fraud, marketing and servicing optimization engines.

Responsibilities:

  • Build everything from basic reports to advanced machine learning models and algos to drive improvements to our customer’s online and mobile app experiences.
  • Work with product owners to redefine the product and content design with a data-driven approach
  • Collaborate with tech partners to test, implement and deploy modeling solutions to production system
  • Develop insights into customer behavior and introduce new approaches to transform complex behavioral data into useful information
  • Maximize the power of closed loop through Amex network to make decisions more intelligent and relevant
  • Work with extensive amounts of digital data (Web, App, API) , External data and sophisticated tools in an industry leading Big Data environment.
  • Innovate with a focus on developing newer and better approaches using big data & machine learning solutions

Qualifications:

  • Masters in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Operation Research and etc.) or Masters in Business Administration with hands-on experience using sophisticated analytical and machine learning techniques.
  • Expertise in an analytical language (Python, R or the equivalent), and experience with databases (Hive, SQL, or the equivalent). Knowledge of SAS is a plus but not required.
  • Deep understanding of machine learning/statistical algorithms such as deep learning and boosting. Experience with data visualization is a plus
  • Proven ability to frame business problems into mathematical programming problems, leverage external thinking and tools (from academia and/or other industries) to engineer a solution and deliver business insights.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Independent thinker who’s organized, has great attention to detail, and can multitask
  • Strong communication skills
  • Preferably 1-2 year of experience in AI/ML or Data Analytics
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently with sophisticated, unstructured initiatives
  • Ability to integrate with cross-functional business partners worldwide
  • Proficient in presentation tools, including Excel and PowerPoint

The candidate will be expected to perform in the following areas:

1) Developing AI-driven data products using advanced language models and Government Commercial Cloud to improve operational efficiency. For example, developing AI products to enable policy analysts to self-help in retrieving relevant data and past policy papers when designing programmes.

2) Identifying trends and insights using machine learning, advanced statistical techniques and multiple data domains such as clinical, lifestyle and genomics data to support policy and service divisions. For example, segmenting populations using multiple data domains to design targeted interventions.

3) Conducting policy simulations that integrate business rules and diverse scenarios to guide informed policy revisions.


Role and Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand needs for actionable insights.

2. Provide thought leadership to stakeholders in determining which analytics techniques and solutions will enable the enterprise to achieve defined business goals.

3. Execute both exploratory and data analysis to identify trends and data analysis to solve business problems.

4. Develop analytical models on large-scale healthcare related datasets to address various business and clinical problems through leveraging advanced statistical modelling, machine learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning and natural language processing techniques.

5. Make recommendations that aid in the realization of value and sustaining analytical activities, which seek to embed analytical tools within business processes.

6. Keep abreast of existing and emerging data science principles/theories/techniques.

7. Deliver projects in line with agreed standards, providing fit for purpose solutions within time, quality and budget constraints.

8. Develop AI/Analytics solution architectures complying with internal compliance.

9. Evaluate technologies/services, providing regular reporting on emerging trends, value add information and potential impact to the healthcare landscape.

10. Support ad-hoc engagements with business partners and stakeholders on analytics outreach activities.


Requirements / Qualifications

1. Hands-on experience in delivering AI solutions, data science or advanced analytics programme / projects, especially in designing and implementing data science or advanced analytics solutions on large datasets.

2. Good understanding of natural language processing, statistical modelling, machine learning, deep learning techniques and a track record of solving problems with these methods.

3. Master or bachelor degrees in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics/Biostatistics/Bioinformatics, Mathematics, Operation Research, Physics or other quantitative disciplines.

4. Proficient in analytics tools such as Python or R

5. Possess good verbal and written communication, analytical and conflict resolution skills with proven ability to translate complex, technical subjects into clear and concise communications to a variety of key stakeholders of different levels (e.g. senior management)

6. Versatile in working independently as well as an effective team player.

7. The candidate will have extra advantage if he/she has experience in any of the following:

a) Prompt Engineering

We are looking for a Solutions Architect with experience in Data Science.

A Solution Architect is the first line of technical expertise between NVIDIA and our customers, as well as our partners. Your duties will vary from solutions design, industry and marketing speaking engagements, training delivery, troubleshooting, project coordination, customer relationship management and more. In this role you will primarily support Thailand, but will need to support the wider South East Asia region if required.

What you'll be doing:
  • Identify new opportunities for NVIDIA technology and solutions, by effectively communicating and positioning the product portfolio and analysing customer requirements.

  • Independently lead technical sales activities in collaboration with the extended team, with the goal of providing total solutions.

  • Identify customer requirements and develop complete generative AI solutions designs using NVIDIA and our ecosystem partners' products.

  • Work closely with ISVs, Solution Integrators and OEMs in solution development and delivery, including proof of concepts.

  • Collaborate with sales and business development teams to support pre-sales activities, including technical presentations and demonstrations of LLM and RAG capabilities.

  • Provide feedback to NVIDIA's product management teams, contributing to the evolution of generative AI technologies.

  • Lead workshops and trainings on NVIDIA's technologies

  • Develop cloud native, multi-agent designs leveraging LLM and RAGs for specific use cases.

  • Help customers to optimise training and inference performance runtime, at scale.

What we need to see:
  • A passion for customer success and innovative AI solutions. Someone motivated, able to work independently, proactively with minimal direction.

  • Exceptional communication skills, good interpersonal skills, and enjoy collaborative work.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in a technical role, specifically focusing on generative AI, with emphasis on training Large Language Models (LLMs).

  • BSc or Master in Data Science, Computer Science or related subjects.

  • Proven track record of deploying and optimizing LLM models in production environments.

  • Expertise in training and fine-tuning LLMs using popular frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.

  • Superb communication and collaboration skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Experience leading workshops, training sessions, and presenting technical solutions to diverse audiences.

  • Professional or Native language proficiency in English and Thai

  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time to support customer in Thailand and South East Asia.
