SUMMARY:

The position will be responsible to support various development works of RF, analog and digital IC's test and engineering activities such as testers, probers and handlers in the area of designing, tooling and test circuit modification.

RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Work closely with Test Development Engineers, Mechanical Engineers to support Hardware, fixture and Mechanical parts development and validation.
• Measurement instruments, wafer prober, IC handlers and commercial ATE test equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and operation supports
• Analog and DC test fixture building, maintenance and debugging, Electromechanical package handling equipment maintenance and trouble-shooting
• Create and update new equipment procedures like buy-off/Qualification specifications, test fixturing, and maintaining adequate inventory of test equipment and test fixturing components
• Develop metrics that provide data for equipment measurement, process/yield improvement and participating in various ATE operation cost reduction projects and/or drive towards achieving the targets set
• Work with product and test operation teams to improve yield and identify low yield root causes or invalid failures

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor Degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience in a semiconductor test environment with at least 5 year of test industry experience in the followings:
• Experience in high volume Analog IC manufacturing test operations using commercial ATE RF test systems from LTXC, DiamondX, Advantest and Teradyne
• Experience in Wafer probe stations and IC handlers like Epson, Hontech and Synax or TEL, TSK wafer probe stations
• Experience in Test H/W design, tooling and maintenance.
• Familiarity with MS Windows computer operating systems and applications, Linux/Unix operating systems, and basic statistical analysis is needed
• Familiar with hardware design software such as Auto-CAD, Solidworks is highly desirable
• Well-developed soldering skills with experience soldering 0402 size surface mount components, or a proven ability to learn such skills, is a plus
• Understanding modern ATE systems and their key components' operation are required
• Strong collaboration and teamwork coupled with good communication skills, with a demonstrated manufacturing discipline, are also required
• Automation experience with test programming languages such as NI LabVIEW, C, C++ or C# is a plus
• Experience with test bench equipment such as Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscope, DVMs is a plus
• Proficient in English (both written and spoken)

SUMMARY:

We are looking for a highly talented Senior Engineer to be a part of the Illumina's R&D department. In this position you will contribute to the definition and development of new Consumable Products to support Illumina's industry leading genetic applications. • Drive development cycles of new consumable products, including design, assembly architecture, process definition, process development, equipment specification and prototyping, materials selections, and metrology development.
• Define product-level specifications and requirements and translate them to critical parameter management at physical level in the process.
• Implement model systems to reduce cycle of learning time of process development.
• Drive product level design, characterization, troubleshooting, and failure analysis.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experienced in the plastics assembly design and development of complex integrated devices (Diagnostic, Microfluidic, Microelectronic, MEMS, etc.)
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems related to device assembly, micro-fluidics, chemical interactions, and strength/reliability of materials.
• Experience with design of experiment (DOE) methodologies and statistical methods for data analysis (i.e., JMP, Minitab)
• Experience with fabrication of fluidic devices, laser welding, plastic joining, or PSA lamination methods is a plus.
• Experience with the Lyophilization of reagents and the subsequent handling is a plus.
• Experience with reagent Fill & Finish processes is a plus.

Responsibilities
Understanding NAND devices operation, reliability tests, product qualification performance and reliability requirements.
Drive process and device technology development and innovations to meet the required performance and reliability specifications within project timeline, through clear problem segmentation, innovative process experiments design and thorough data analysis with device physics understanding.
Extract and analyze inline, probe, parametric and reliability data for thorough data analysis.
Drive cross-functional teams to address device/array deficiencies (design/process/deviceteams).
Applies project management skills to small projects or parts of larger projects.
Collaborate with various teams to improve project deliverables, such as with product engineers to improve array tests for better device characterization, with TCAD team for improved device understanding, with process integration engineers to define structural specifications to meet device requirements.
Provide regular updates to global cell team and management team on project status and outlook, with clear summary of complex problems, actions taken to address them and timeline of deliverables.
Assist in the transfer of a new technology from R&D to manufacturing and contribute towards ensuring successful ramp and qualification of current technology node.
Qualifications
A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the semiconductor industry in the areas of Process Integration, Memory or CMOS device technology.
Ability to understand the NAND cell operation, reliability and performance requirements while contributing to new product qualifications.
In-depth knowledge on semiconductor process flow (preferably nonvolatile memories) with good material and structural understanding is desirable.
Exposure to R&D and transfer / manufacturing is preferred.
Highly self-motivated, self-governing with proven ability to work in a demanding & dynamic environment.
Ability to effectively coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet NAND cell requirements.
Solid data analysis capability, communication and presentation skills.
