SQL Server Database Administrator

Duties & Responsibilities

2 to 5 years of DBA experience, expertise in database structure design and database administration, proficient in complex query analysis and tuning, database builds, migrations and upgrades, system and database troubleshooting

· Able to validate Database setup, database objects, permissions on existing service IDs for migration

· Collaborated with cross-functional teams to implement database changes and optimizations in alignment with application releases

· Take proactive measures to monitor, trend, and tune SQL databases, such as running maintenance jobs to meet or exceed baseline stability and performance SLAs on large databases (1 TB+) and large volumes of databases (100+)

· At least 1 years of experience in Database Support as a DBA and Microsoft Certified Professional, DBA - MS SQL Certification an added advantage

· Experience with Control-M (or similar scheduling systems)

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for end-to-end lifecycle management of Oracle Databases (12c/19c) on Linux, including installation, configuration, evaluation, administration, monitoring, and operational support.
• Provide technical solutions for database-related issues while proactively monitoring and optimizing performance to ensure high availability and system reliability.
• Manage and support Oracle database environments with a focus on data management, high availability (Oracle RAC and Data Guard), performance tuning, backup and recovery, and patching/upgrades.
• Execute change and release management in compliance with organizational policies, and perform in-depth root cause analysis to troubleshoot and resolve database issues.
• Oversee comprehensive database tuning across configuration, memory, SQL, and storage layers, while administering and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server environments (2016 and above).
• Support audits with accurate documentation, participate in disaster recovery exercises, respond to incidents and service requests promptly, and ensure documentation aligns with company standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Information Technology or a related field from a recognized university.
• Over 8 years of hands-on experience in Oracle database patching and advanced administration of standalone and RAC environments, with proven expertise in Oracle RAC and Grid Infrastructure components such as Clusterware, ASM, and Disk Group management.
• Solid experience with Microsoft SQL Server high availability solutions, including Always On Availability Groups and Windows Clustering.
• Strong background in database migration and upgrade projects across various platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and enforce database security policies, along with the creation and maintenance of related procedural documentation.
• Willingness and flexibility to support critical operations outside regular business hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by banking operations.

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Management Specialist to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have experience in managing and maintaining SQL Server instances across development, QA, and production environments.

Key responsibilities include configuring and supporting Always-On Availability Groups, failover clusters, and other HA/DR solutions, as well as performing database installations, upgrades, patching, and migrations across SQL Server versions (2008–2019).

Additionally, the successful candidate will conduct performance tuning using indexing strategies, query optimization, and monitoring tools like SQL Profiler and Extended Events.

They will also provide L3-level support for escalated tickets from L2 teams, including incident resolution and root cause analysis, participate in 24x7 production support, and troubleshoot issues related to login failures, port conflicts, TLS/SSL handshakes, and cross-server connectivity.

Other key responsibilities include coordinating with infrastructure teams to resolve network-related SQL issues, setting up and maintaining automated alerts, health checks, and performance dashboards, redesigning and automating SQL reports based on business requirements, documenting resolution steps and best practices in centralized knowledge bases, supporting UAT data setup for bug fixes and application releases, coordinating deployments to UAT and production environments, participating in Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings for approval of DB changes, configuring and maintaining user roles, permissions, and SQL security policies, providing audit deliverables for internal and external audits, and ensuring compliance with organizational standards for data integrity and access control.
