The head manages the department's operations, sets key performance indicators, leads speech therapists to enhance clinical innovation, evidence -based practice, and drives patient care and service excellence. The individual focuses largely on managerial work and performs some clinical, educational and research tasks. Responsibilities include managing departmental resources and risks, ensuring compliance to regulatory requirements, leading change management at a organizational and sector level by implementing new or revised policies, ensuring sufficient manpower for clinical services, managing department budgets, and helping to start new departmental services. The individual should possess strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, effective communication, and be meticulous, strategic, fair, decisive and insightful. This individual should also be a visionary leader who is driven and decisive, and possesses, team-building and leadership skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Management:
1. Assess risks of work systems, work processes and service delivery.
2. Conduct workforce planning and/or manpower projection based on department's current and future needs, and tactful allocation to programmes based on individual programme’s funding model
3. Conducts audits on the department systems, processes and operations.
4. Reviews and refine workplace health and safety audits.
5. Contribute to cluster-wide and/or national level initiatives.
6. Develop business continuity plans.
7. Develop health and safety policies.
9. Develop talent retention and recruitment strategies for therapists and therapy assistants in collaboration with human resource department.
10. Develop strategies based on clinical audit results.
11. Set strategic direction for the department to align with organisational strategy and goals.
12. Develop work plans for the department to meet the department's key performance indicators.
13. Conduct staff performance reviews and manage learning and development.
14. Identify opportunities for leadership development.
15. Identify strategic quality improvement initiatives.
16. Implement department policies, guidelines and strategies.

Clinical:
1. Collaborate with transdisciplinary team to enhance clinical services.
2. Guide staff during assessments and intervention for complex cases and communicate assessment results, therapy plans, goals and outcome measures to clients and other relevant stakeholders.
3. Assess gaps in clinical assessment practice and protocols.
4. Provide consultation as a specialist or expert in complex cases.
5. Provide interventions for complex cases.
6. Provide therapy recommendations, for complex cases, based on an evaluation of client's needs.
7. Prescribe assistive devices and equipment according to clients' needs.
8. Develop systems of communication which facilitate continuity of care beyond the clinical setting.
9. Lead the development of new clinical services.
10. Develop strategies to optimise the utilisation of new clinical services.
Education, Training and Development:
1. Provide clinical education in advanced techniques for complex cases.
2. Oversee the update of client and caregiver education materials and resources.
3. Deliver training to parents, and /or caregivers on methods and techniques to manage continuity of care in complex or escalated cases.
4. Create opportunities for capability development and for co-learning across institutions or settings to advance staff's learning.
5. Identify training needs of therapists and plan continuing education programmes.
6. Lead the design and delivery of training programmes for caregivers, teachers, and peer professionals and public educational initiatives at organizational level
7. Review evaluation findings of training programmes for clinical educators.
8. Set strategic direction for clinical training and development, clinical placement offers, and resource utilisation appropriately
9. Supervise and guide staff in conducting talks and workshops to professionals and the public.
10. Liaise, coordinate, and plan for placement opportunities for students pursuing undergraduate and/or postgraduate degree in speech and language pathology for clinical attachment.
Research and Development:
1. Provide clinical expertise and consultation for research and education.
2. Apply for grants to secure research resources.
3. Assess research competencies of staff.
4. Plan and implement research and development programmes in consultation with the Head of the Organization.
5. Identify practice or service gaps for research.
6. Lead research projects and provide reports on research progress to relevant stakeholders.
7. Participate in peer reviews of journal articles and reviews of conference abstracts
8. Partner with internal and external collaborators for research projects.
9. Create opportunities for staff to be involved in research, provide guidance and support for presentations and /or research publications.
10. Translate research evidence into clinical practice.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelors or Masters in Speech and Language Pathology / Therapy recognised under Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC), Singapore
· Must have obtained full registration under AHPC
· At least 10 years in a leadership position with general management experience
· Experience in a Social Service Agency (SSA) will be an added advantage.

DESIGNATION : Speech Language Therapist
RESPONSIBILITIES
Working with stakeholders, we are looking for a skilled and compassionate Speech Language Therapist to join our team and help our clients, predominantly school-aged children with developmental disabilities (e.g. ID, ASD), thrive academically, socially and functionally.
1. Assessment, Therapy Planning and Implementation:
- Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate speech, language, and communication needs tailored to clients with intellectual disabilities and autism.
- Develop and implement customized therapy plans that address each client's specific challenges and goals, using evidence-based approaches.
- Deliver targeted individual/group speech and language therapy interventions that support clients in improving their communication skills, social interactions, and academic performance.
2. Collaborative and Interdisciplinary Teamwork:
- Collaborate with special education educators, and other therapists to integrate therapy goals into classroom activities and individual learning plans.
- Provide training and support to educators and caregivers, such as use of AAC or screening, hence to equip them with strategies to reinforce communication skills outside of therapy sessions.
- Assist educators and the speech therapy team in designing and planning of curriculum for special education within this population.
3. Administrative and Operational Tasks:

It caters to students on the autism spectrum with related conditions, aged 7 to 18 years, who are cognitively able to access national curriculum but require additional support such as smaller class sizes, special accommodations and teaching staff trained in autism.
The team at Autism Intervention, Training & Consultancy (AITC) provides training and consultancy services for professionals and caregivers, as well as direct intervention services for individuals on the autism spectrum.
As a Speech & Language Therapist , you will work withstudents with autism on a range of skills including social communication, language and literacy.
Your Impact and Contribution includes:
Assessment & Report Writing
- Conduct and report on assessment findings in the areas of language, literacy and communication in learners with autism within a school context for direct intervention planning and exam access
- Conduct school team based assessment for curriculum and lesson planning
Intervention
- Plan and Conduct 1:1 and small group direct intervention on language, communication and literacy goals
- Make necessary referrals to external and alternative services where necessary
- Participate in collaborative consultation model with key stakeholders
Programme Development
- Participate in curriculum / program development projects
- For the position of Senior SLT - develop program wide or school wide intervention programmes on areas related to communication and language
Coaching/Training
- Provide training, consultation and instructions to educators on evidence informed approaches, tools and strategies to support students in language (including literacy) and functional communication (e.g. appropriate use of AAC support strategies to enhance spontaneous communication and social interaction)
- Deliver training to parents and teachers on issues related to language and social communication and interaction
For Senior SLTs - Management and Leadership
- Provide supervision and mentorship to junior SLTs
- Provide routine reporting on agreed Key Goals for Speech and Language Therapy service provision
- Influence the development of programme and policies to promote best practice in communication, language and literacy development
- Full registration with the Allied Health Professional Council (AHPC)
- Desire to learn about autism and the passion to serve the autism community
- Flexibility and adaptability to changes and different perspectives
- Able to work independently and collaborate as a team member in a dynamic work environment

Speech-Language Therapist (SLT)
We are searching for flexible, resourceful, and caring speech-language therapists (SLTs) to joinour clinical service team at GentleCare. Openings are available for SLTs and Senior SLTs.
The SLT should be able to work with patients from different backgrounds and across clinical settings such as home-based therapy, day rehab centres, nursing homes and inpatient wards.
The SLT is expected to travel to patients' homes and various clinics island-wide. Transport allowance will be provided.
SLT Responsibilities:
• Assessing, diagnosing, and providing therapy to patients with language, speech, and swallowing disorders
• Communicating with the patient, info counselling their family members/caregivers, and liaising with fellow healthcare professionals to design effective treatment plans
• Using evidence-based approaches in combination with new, innovative techniques to provide the best care
• Timely documentation on patient case history and subsequent intervention
• Evaluating patient progress and implementing changes to therapy programs as required
SLT Requirements:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in speech-language pathology
• Fully registered under Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC), with a valid practising certificate recognised by MOH Singapore.
• Relevant clinical experience of working withadult patients with acquired communication disorders and dysphagia
• Good understanding of communication-related disorders and treatments
• Resourcefulness and strong problem-solving skills
