Role Overview:

  • Be the focal point for special tooling & equipment purchase and drive vendor performance in accordance to established purchase orders / contracts
  • Provide RFQ/RFP/contract negotiation support
  • Lead small contract negotiations/key projects, engaging with key stakeholders (e.g. key operational stakeholders in operations / engineering / maintenance etc.) in defining/understanding requirements through to implementation

Roles & Responsibilities

Job Title: Sourcing Analyst (Japanese speaking / 1 Year Contract)

Location: Hybrid (based in Singapore)

Industry: Procurement / Supply Chain

Job Summary:

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Sourcing Analyst to support our client's Procurement team. This role will involve sourcing and supplier coordination activities across Asia, with a focus on Southeast Asia, Japan, and Korea. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, request and analyze quotations, and manage procurement-related data in SAP.

As this role requires regular communication with Japanese-speaking suppliers, proficiency in Japanese is essential to perform the job effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand sourcing needs and project requirements
  • Obtain, review, and compare quotations from suppliers across Asia
  • Support negotiations and review of supplier terms and conditions
  • Maintain and update procurement and contract data accurately in SAP
  • Communicate with suppliers in English and Japanese to support procurement processes
  • Manage documentation and follow-up actions related to sourcing activities
  • Ensure compliance with internal sourcing policies and procedures
  • Contribute to continuous process improvements and record-keeping best practices

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain roles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and Japanese (to liaise with Japanese-speaking suppliers)
  • Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently in a hybrid work environment
  • Comfortable managing communications across different time zones in Asia
  • Experience working with suppliers in Southeast Asia, Japan, and Korea is a plus
