We are looking for a
Solutions Engineer
who can work across systems, write code when needed, and communicate comfortably with partners, customers, and teams across different countries. This role combines integration design, software development, and hands-on problem solving. In this role, you will work with clients and partners to integrate our platform with external systems like lifts, doors, and fleet managers. You will also contribute to the backend and cloud infrastructure that powers these systems helping us scale, standardise, and improve how we support integration across environments.
This is a role for someone who enjoys understanding the problem, designing a solution, and building the right tools to make it work.
What you will do
● Design and implement integrations with external systems such as lifts, smart doors, gantries, and fleet management platforms
● Act as a technical point of contact for integration with customers and partners, from scoping to deployment
● Write backend, frontend and cloud features that support these integrations, including APIs, services and automation tools
● Collaborate with the engineering team to design scalable interfaces and deployment patterns
● Build internal tools and support systems that help other teams deliver and monitor integrations
● Contribute to developer-facing experiences like sandbox environments, API documentation or test tooling
● Troubleshoot real-world problems across software, systems and infrastructure
● Turn customer requirements and feedback into platform improvements and new features
What we are looking for
● Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
● At least 2 years working experience in technical role involving software development, systems integration or technical consulting
● Proficient in programming or scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java or Golang
● Experience working with RESTful APIs, web services and integration patterns
● A solid understanding of backend or cloud infrastructure and how to build for reliability and maintainability
● A structured approach to debugging and troubleshooting across systems
● Strong communication skills and a clear, pragmatic mindset
● Willingness to work across both customer-facing and internal product teams
Nice to have:
● Experience working with smart building systems, access control, or IoT platforms
● Familiarity with OpenRMF, ROS or robotics-related communication stacks
● Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS and orchestration tools like Kubernetes
● Background working with developer tools, API gateways or platform engineering.

Act as the technical point of contact for external partners from requirement scoping to system deployment
Design and develop software across backend, frontend, and cloud-based features including APIs, automation tools, and services
Collaborate with engineering teams to build reusable, modular, and scalable integration patterns
Build internal tools that streamline testing, support, and monitoring of integrations
Develop exceptional developer experiences such as sandbox environments, API documentation, and test tooling
Troubleshoot real-world problems across software, systems and infrastructure
Translate customer requirements and feedback into platform features and improvements
What we are looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
Experience in software development, systems integration or technical consulting
Experience working with RESTful APIs, web services and integration patterns
A solid understanding of backend or cloud infrastructure and how to build for reliability and maintainability

Job Description Summary:
Your way to impact: As a Solutions Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our merchants successfully implement our products. we will look for you to use your technology and business intelligence to help merge the multitude of APIs and experiences to create solutions our merchants will love. The role requires internal cross team participation with key internal stakeholder teams such as Sales, Product, Engineering, Risk, Compliance, etc. to address specific integration requirements or new product features. In your day-to-day role you will:
Interacts directly with our merchants, partners and developers to recognize and articulate business requirements and how best to implement our PayPal solutions, while adhering to PayPal guidelines and company policies
Act as main technical point of contact for all solutioning and implementation-related activities throughout the integration effort. Facilitate setting up test accounts, provide technical development and coding support, and guide the client through testing and pre-launch activities
Be the “Voice of the Customer” and relay constructive feedback to Product Managers, Engineering, Technology and other internal groups on ease of use and new functionality. Work with internal teams on any required feature enhancements or to address any solution gaps
Works with key internal stakeholders, including Product Management, Risk, Payments, etc. to address specific customer business requirements or new product features

What you need to bring:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in finance and computer science or Master’s degree preferred
10+ years of experience/exposure in the following areas: web and mobile technologies including Web Services, REST APIs, HTML/ iOS, Android and leading web and mobile application frameworks
Multiple major programming languages (Java, Node.js, .NET, PHP)
Exceptional communication skills, in Chinese and English, both written and verbal, Korean will be a plus
Ability to successfully interact and dynamically adapt to communication styles with all levels of client organizations including C-level executives, middle management, finance and operations, developers, and line personnel
Ability to translate requirements into detailed design and solution documents
Ability to quickly assess and troubleshoot most integration issues

Key Accountabilities:

General

1. Responsible for all mechanical related technical solution engineering for major Data Center Projects in APAC.
2. Develop and manage complete scope from initiation to onsite delivery of mechanical systems related to the diesel genset enclosure.

Tendering Matters

1. Work closely with sales to define the technical scope (mechanical).
2. Review/clarify customer’s specifications & tender documents.
3. Review and finalize the C/D/E document.
4. Provide the technical specifications and define the scope of supply for the equipment.
5. Coordinate with factory and local suppliers to harmonize the scope of supply.
6. Work with suppliers/contractors to quote for the equipment and obtain proposals timely.

Solution Engineering Matters

1. Define the mechanical systems requirements for the walk in genset enclosures suitable for the project needs.
2. Provide the design and prepares the drawings and documents for the customer’s technical requirements.
3. Calculate, verify, and select the right equipment/suppliers.
4. Uses the computerized engineering tools/database, technical library information and factory standards for the solution engineering work.
5. Provide and maintain the product and solution engineering information.
6. Prepare and carry out technical presentations and training.

Order Execution

1. Verify and confirm the shop drawings, P&ID, datasheets, and similar technical documents to ensure customer specification compliance.
2. Finalize equipment scope and specifications. Collaborate with internal departments to procure the equipment.
3. Raise the purchase requisitions for the scope of supply.
4. Support the execution team to resolve technical issue related to the mechanical systems during project execution, from packaging to site related.
5. Participate in design review and lessons learnt sessions. Proactively provide valuable insights and recommendation to enhance system performance and efficiency.

Other Matters

1. Update oneself with the technical developments of the market and internal products.
2. Travel overseas on business, when required.
3. Special assignment from time to time.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. University / college studies in Mechanical engineering.
2. Proven experience in the diesel engine/generator industry, min. 5 years with track record of successfully delivered projects and solutions.
3. Solid understanding of Cooling system, Fuel system, Ventilation system of a diesel generator set and demonstrate the ability to integrate the understanding into designing a genset enclosure.
4. Knowledge of engineering calculation for genset mechanical systems, for e.g., sizing calculation.
5. Demonstrating the ability to conceptualize and execute complex mechanical designs and bring cost benefit to the customer.
6. Knowledge of data centers, switchgear and electrical power protection would be an added advantage.
7. Understanding of Asian cultures and business practices.
8. Excellent team player with an open mindset, collaborative spirit, and exceptional communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with diverse teams and stakeholders to achieve common goals.
9. Willingness to travel for onsite jobs when needed, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to meet project requirements and deadlines effectively.

Key Accountabilities

General

• Responsible for all mechanical related technical solution engineering for major Data Center Projects in APAC.
• Develop and manage complete scope from initiation to onsite delivery of mechanical systems related to the diesel genset enclosure.
  
  

• Work closely with sales to define the technical scope (mechanical).
• Review/clarify customer’s specifications & tender documents.
• Review and finalize the C/D/E document.
• Provide the technical specifications and define the scope of supply for the equipment.
• Coordinate with factory and local suppliers to harmonize the scope of supply.
• Work with suppliers/contractors to quote for the equipment and obtain proposals timely.
  
  

• Define the mechanical systems requirements for the walk in genset enclosures suitable for the project needs.
• Provide the design and prepares the drawings and documents for the customer’s technical requirements.
• Calculate, verify, and select the right equipment/suppliers.
• Uses the computerized engineering tools/database, technical library information and factory standards for the solution engineering work.
• Provide and maintain the product and solution engineering information.
• Prepare and carry out technical presentations and training
  
  

• Verify and confirm the shop drawings, P&ID, datasheets, and similar technical documents to ensure customer specification compliance.
• Finalize equipment scope and specifications. Collaborate with internal departments to procure the equipment.
• Raise the purchase requisitions for the scope of supply.
• Support the execution team to resolve technical issue related to the mechanical systems during project execution, from packaging to site related.
• Participate in design review and lessons learnt sessions. Proactively provide valuable insights and recommendation to enhance system performance and efficiency.
  
  

• Update oneself with the technical developments of the market and internal products.
• Travel overseas on business, when required.
• Special assignment from time to time.
  
  

• University / college studies in Mechanical engineering.
• Proven experience in the diesel engine/generator industry, min. 5 years with track record of successfully delivered projects and solutions.
• Solid understanding of Cooling system, Fuel system, Ventilation system of a diesel generator set and demonstrate the ability to integrate the understanding into designing a genset enclosure.
• Knowledge of engineering calculation for genset mechanical systems, for e.g., sizing calculation.
• Demonstrating the ability to conceptualize and execute complex mechanical designs and bring cost benefit to the customer.
• Knowledge of data centers, switchgear and electrical power protection would be an added advantage.
• Understanding of Asian cultures and business practices.
• Excellent team player with an open mindset, collaborative spirit, and exceptional communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with diverse teams and stakeholders to achieve common goals.
• Willingness to travel for onsite jobs when needed, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to meet project requirements and deadlines effectively.
• Proactive and positive attitude.
• Proficient in 2D/3D CAD software.
