Your day at NTT DATA

The Director, Enterprise Architecture is a leadership role, responsible for proactively leading an Enterprise Architecture team and ensures the provision of enterprise business application, process and technical expertise through practically applying existing, new and emerging technologies to new and evolving business and operating models.

This role is responsible for ensuring the management of pre-sales technical activities and support to Sales teams during presentations and demonstrations of company products and services, particularly Managed Services/Services offerings.

This leadership role establishes and maintains lines of communication with design engineering on issues such as considerations for product reliability and works with internal business stakeholders to define new products and services.

Key responsibilities:

  • May participate with the sales team in proactively driving the presales process with clients. This may include conducting meetings, writing proposals, proposing solutions, and delivering presentations.Leads the evolution of the Enterprise Architecture (EA) function.
  • Contributes to the vision, goals, and measures of success for the Enterprise Architecture function, recognizing the current team maturity and skills of the team members.
  • Supports Enterprise Architects with large complex solution design with clients and lead/support the internal service and technical teams to enable business outcome and requirements mapping.
  • Integrates services, processes, applications, data, technology through a design process across multiple domains, delivery units, or geography.
  • Interfaces between business stakeholders assigned to client account to develop an integrated solution strategy.
  • Shares best practices, lessons learned and constantly updates the enterprise architecture based on changing technologies, and knowledge related to recent, current, and upcoming vendor products and solutions.
  • Coaches/mentors and provides leadership to engage with other team members and acts as advisor and decision-maker in solution design situations.
  • Interprets, influences, and develops IT strategies, as well as implements the execution of the strategies.
  • Provides advice for the Managed Services/Services strategy, innovation, operations, architecture and infrastructure required to deliver efficient and effective platforms fundamental to business success and client satisfaction.
  • Defines architectural principles and applies them to influence architectural outcomes and guide governance.
  • Creates, refines, and oversees the execution of the processes of the Enterprise Architecture function, including documenting processes, building support for points of interaction, and ensuring the deliverables match the expectations and timing needed by partners and stakeholders.
  • Contributes to the management of large application and technology portfolios, using frameworks, lifecycle, and various other models and tools.
  • Recommends and participates in the analysis, evaluation, and development of enterprise long-term strategic and operating plans to ensure that the Enterprise Architecture objectives are consistent with the business' long-term business objectives.
  • Provides timely and high-quality reports and briefings on architecture roadmap, strategic initiatives and architecture metrics to executive leadership.

  • Significant knowledge of the methods and processes of an appropriate Enterprise Architecture framework, for example, TOGAF.

Academic qualifications and certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology or Engineering or Computer Science or related field.
  • Certification and expert knowledge of Enterprise Architecture methodologies (such as, TOGAF, Zachman, SOA); preference in TOGAF, additional SOA will be considered as an asset.
  • Certification and expert knowledge of IT Service Management methodologies (ITIL, COBIT, etc.).
  • Scaled Agile certification advantageous.

Required experience:

  • Significant technical leadership experience in an enterprise environment, managing people, processes, and budgets to achieve corporate and divisional objectives.
  • Significant experience with and understanding of the deliverables and value proposition of Enterprise Architecture.
  • Significant client engagement and consulting experience coupled with substantial experience in change management and the ability to recognize opportunities for future business.

Overview

Director, Enterprise Architecture (SAP) at NTT DATA, Inc. The role leads an Enterprise Architecture team and applies existing, new and emerging technologies to support evolving business and operating models. This leadership position includes pre‑sales technical activities and supporting Sales teams during presentations and demonstrations of company products and services, especially Managed Services/Services offerings.

This role requires establishing and maintaining communication with design engineering on product reliability considerations and collaborating with internal stakeholders to define new products and services.

Key responsibilities
  • Participate with the sales team in proactively driving the presales process with clients, including meetings, proposals, solution design, and presentations. Lead the evolution of the Enterprise Architecture function.
  • Contribute to the vision, goals and success measures for the EA function, recognizing current team maturity and skills.
  • Support Enterprise Architects with large, complex solution design for clients and lead/support internal service and technical teams to enable business outcomes and requirements mapping.
  • Integrate services, processes, applications, data, and technology through a design process across multiple domains, delivery units or geographies.
  • Interface with business stakeholders to develop an integrated solution strategy for assigned client accounts.
  • Share best practices and lessons learned; continuously update the EA based on changing technologies and vendor products/solutions.
  • Coach/mentor and provide leadership to team members; act as advisor and decision-maker in solution design situations.
  • Interpret and influence IT strategies and implement their execution; advise on Managed Services/Services strategy, innovation, operations, architecture and infrastructure required for robust platforms.
  • Define architectural principles and apply them to influence outcomes and governance; oversee EA processes, deliverables, and alignment with partner and stakeholder timelines.
  • Contribute to management of large application and technology portfolios using frameworks and lifecycle models; participate in analysis and development of long-term strategic and operating plans.
  • Provide timely, high-quality reports and briefings on architecture roadmaps, strategic initiatives and metrics to executive leadership.
Qualifications and certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
  • Certification and expertise in Enterprise Architecture methodologies (e.g., TOGAF; Zachman; SOA); TOGAF preferred; SOA considered an asset.
  • Certification and expertise in IT Service Management methodologies (ITIL, COBIT, etc.).
  • Scaled Agile certification is advantageous.
Required experience
  • Significant technical leadership experience in an enterprise environment, managing people, processes and budgets to achieve objectives.
  • Experience with the deliverables and value proposition of Enterprise Architecture; strong client engagement and consulting background with change management experience.
  • Experience integrating solutions with business domains, enterprise concerns, industry standards and best practices; pre-sales experience strongly preferred.

  • Creates, refines, and oversees the execution of the processes of the Enterprise Architecture function, including documenting processes, building support for points of interaction, and ensuring the deliverables match the expectations and timing needed by partners and stakeholders.
  • Contributes to the management of large application and technology portfolios, using frameworks, lifecycle, and various other models and tools.
  • Recommends and participates in the analysis, evaluation, and development of enterprise long-term strategic and operating plans to ensure that the Enterprise Architecture objectives are consistent with the business’ long-term business objectives.
  • Provides timely and high-quality reports and briefings on architecture roadmap, strategic initiatives and architecture metrics to executive leadership.

Key Requirements:
