The Director, Enterprise Architecture is a leadership role, responsible for proactively leading an Enterprise Architecture team and ensures the provision of enterprise business application, process and technical expertise through practically applying existing, new and emerging technologies to new and evolving business and operating models.

This role is responsible for ensuring the management of pre-sales technical activities and support to Sales teams during presentations and demonstrations of company products and services, particularly Managed Services/Services offerings.

This leadership role establishes and maintains lines of communication with design engineering on issues such as considerations for product reliability and works with internal business stakeholders to define new products and services.

Key responsibilities:

  • May participate with the sales team in proactively driving the presales process with clients. This may include conducting meetings, writing proposals, proposing solutions, and delivering presentations.Leads the evolution of the Enterprise Architecture (EA) function.
  • Contributes to the vision, goals, and measures of success for the Enterprise Architecture function, recognizing the current team maturity and skills of the team members.

  • Integrates services, processes, applications, data, technology through a design process across multiple domains, delivery units, or geography.

  • Coaches/mentors and provides leadership to engage with other team members and acts as advisor and decision-maker in solution design situations.
  • Interprets, influences, and develops IT strategies, as well as implements the execution of the strategies.
  • Provides advice for the Managed Services/Services strategy, innovation, operations, architecture and infrastructure required to deliver efficient and effective platforms fundamental to business success and client satisfaction.
  • Defines architectural principles and applies them to influence architectural outcomes and guide governance.
  • Creates, refines, and oversees the execution of the processes of the Enterprise Architecture function, including documenting processes, building support for points of interaction, and ensuring the deliverables match the expectations and timing needed by partners and stakeholders.
  • Contributes to the management of large application and technology portfolios, using frameworks, lifecycle, and various other models and tools.
  • Recommends and participates in the analysis, evaluation, and development of enterprise long-term strategic and operating plans to ensure that the Enterprise Architecture objectives are consistent with the business' long-term business objectives.
  • Provides timely and high-quality reports and briefings on architecture roadmap, strategic initiatives and architecture metrics to executive leadership.

  • Significant knowledge of the methods and processes of an appropriate Enterprise Architecture framework, for example, TOGAF.

Academic qualifications and certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology or Engineering or Computer Science or related field.
  • Certification and expert knowledge of Enterprise Architecture methodologies (such as, TOGAF, Zachman, SOA); preference in TOGAF, additional SOA will be considered as an asset.
  • Certification and expert knowledge of IT Service Management methodologies (ITIL, COBIT, etc.).
  • Scaled Agile certification advantageous.

Required experience:

  • Significant technical leadership experience in an enterprise environment, managing people, processes, and budgets to achieve corporate and divisional objectives.
  • Significant experience with and understanding of the deliverables and value proposition of Enterprise Architecture.
  • Significant client engagement and consulting experience coupled with substantial experience in change management and the ability to recognize opportunities for future business.

**Academic qualifications and certifications:**

+ Certification and expert knowledge of Enterprise Architecture methodologies (such as, TOGAF, Zachman, SOA); preference in TOGAF, additional SOA will be considered as an asset.
+ Certification and expert knowledge of IT Service Management methodologies (ITIL, COBIT, etc.).
+ Scaled Agile certification advantageous.

+ Significant technical leadership experience in an enterprise environment, managing people, processes, and budgets to achieve corporate and divisional objectives.

About The Role:
Given the bank's sustained technological expansion, this role assumes a pivotal position in formulating an extensive Enterprise Architectural framework, strategy, and standards to guide the institution in perpetual technological innovation. The primary objective is to align technology teams with business strategy while ensuring resiliency and uninterrupted services for customers worldwide and fostering innovation without interruption.
As an Enterprise Architect (EA), you will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the bank's enterprise-wide architecture strategy. You will act as a key technologist with deep expertise across various technology stacks, ideally with hands-on experience. Your primary focus will be on partnering with both business and IT stakeholders to align technology solutions with the bank's strategic objectives and customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a trusted advisor to business and IT stakeholders, understanding their goals and the broader business strategy to deliver technology solutions that align with customer journeys and business outcomes.
Collaborate with Application and Infrastructure CTOs to design and implement a technology roadmap that supports the bank’s strategic objectives.
Lead the execution of the technology strategy, ensuring transparency on progress, milestones, and outcomes while aligning with senior management and key stakeholders.
Play a crucial role across the technology value chain by providing critical inputs to engineering teams to ensure solutions meet business and performance expectations.
Proactively identify technology trends, roadblocks, and challenges early in the process to facilitate solutions and alignment with engineering teams.
Govern the adoption and definition of technology standards across the bank, ensuring compliance and fostering innovation.
Strategic Initiatives:
Lead two key forums to drive the execution of the Enterprise Architecture (EA) strategy:
Resiliency PSC:
Focuses on designing a technology roadmap that supports customer journeys and reviewing application roadmaps.
Center of Excellence (COE) Forum:
Aims to define technology strategy and standards for foundational technology components supporting applications, ensuring compliance, innovation, and sustainability.
Key Requirements:
Proven experience in successfully delivering transformation programs, including at least one full digital transformation lifecycle.
Expertise in designing and implementing Cloud and Data Platforms, AI solutions (including Gen AI), and a keen interest in emerging technologies.
Strong background in Enterprise Architecture blueprints, including applications, integrations, data, and network landscapes.
Ability to formulate and execute multi-year strategic initiatives, while implementing tactical initiatives within a broader framework.
Certifications in TOGAF, Zachman, ITIL, CISSP, AWS, Azure, or GCP, or equivalent.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and drive key architectural decisions.
Ability to simplify and clearly communicate complex technical concepts, adjusting for different audiences.
Strong conceptual and analytical thinking, with the ability to identify patterns across diverse situations.
