Job Title: Lead Maintenance Engineer

• The role involves planning and supervising a team in the execution of preventive, corrective maintenance programs within schedule and cost, meeting company standards and customer expectations.
• The successful candidate will have good knowledge and experience of electrical maintenance and troubleshooting of MV/LV switch gears, HV/LV motors, 230KV SF6CB, 21 KV GCB, VFDs MOVs, HVAC, overhead crane, battery charger & UPS, transformers, electrical protection systems, static frequency converter and static excitation system etc.
• Troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, and failure analysis are essential skills for this role to determine the cause of failure.
• Developing risk assessment and mitigation measures for every maintenance job in the plant before executing maintenance activities is also crucial.
• A proper documentation system must be established to archive all jobs internally and with customers for sharing and audit purposes.
• Engaging stakeholders to resolve technical problems that arise in the plant is an important aspect of the job.
• Assisting the section head in identifying, planning, and reviewing training needs of the section is another responsibility.
• Assisting the section head in reviewing and identifying spare requirements classifying under Strategic or Inventory spare is also part of the job.
• Preparing daily updates on maintenance activities for the day to all stakeholders is a key function.
• Successful candidates may be appointed as part of the Company Emergency Response Team (CERT) upon completion of training.

Under the general supervision of the Engineering/Process Improvement Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for organizing and coordinating through internal and external resources to ensure engineering services, maintenance, repairs, building services and landscaping are performed and comply with all applicable regulations at optimal cost and quality.

• Responsible for the installation of new equipment, and planning and carrying out maintenance program for the manufacturing facilities to meet safety and service reliability.
• Inspects, tests, adjusts and repairs all physical plant machinery, heating, cooling, piping, and electrical systems, and records maintenance in accordance to schedules.
• Responsible for maintenance of manufacturing equipment, providing both preventive maintenance programs and all necessary repairs. Ensures that the factory personnel have safe, efficient equipment in order to perform their functions.
• Carry out calibration of load cells and portable scales in the plant every 6 monthly and according to schedule.
• Ensures the smooth operations of Deionized Water Plant.
• Inspects, tests, cleans, and repair fired equipment, alarms, switches, and sensors.
• Responsible for the facilitation of equipment/process improvement projects.
• Performs machine enhancement and modifications, as necessary.
• Provides technical support to production.
• Identification of any potential plant problems or deficiencies, and make suggestion for short-term and long-term corrective measures for each situation according to priority, constraints and seriousness so as to ensure minimal disruption to production plans.
• Perform operational troubleshooting activities to ensure any deviations are managed promptly, effectivelyand safely.
• Coordinate with contractors on repair and maintenance work in the plant.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related disciplines.
• Relevant industrial experience of about 2 to 5 years preferably in a chemical manufacturing environment.
• Proven track record of working in an operations / supply-chain organization, along with effective engagement with cross-functional teams.
• Manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously
• Maintain tight timelines while meeting targeted savings outcomes.
• Experience with total cost of ownership reduction and process improvement.

Cubic Defense

This position reports directly to the Chief Engineer/Systems Engineer of Cubic Singapore. It involves collaborating with Cubic’s Singapore-based and international engineering teams to define maintenance solutions. Responsibilities include developing technical details for proposed maintenance solutions, supporting engineering efforts in design, modification, testing, and evaluation of complex systems with hardware, mechanical, optical, and software components.

This role also leads on-site installation, integration, and acceptance activities at customer locations, including remote sites in Singapore and other countries. Post-delivery, the role involves system sustainment and logistics support, and may include external technical engagements with global customers to determine training and system requirements.

The position generally operates under supervision and involves decision-making authority.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Respond to emergencies, Andon signals, breakdowns, malfunctions, and other operating issues to minimize disruptions in manufacturing processes.

• Familiarity with Siemens, Fanuc, and Okuma control systems is preferred.
• Experience with special process equipment like furnaces and plating equipment.

About the Role

We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to lead preventive and corrective maintenance activities, while driving our transition toward predictive and smart maintenance using sensor data and machine learning. This role is critical to maintaining high equipment availability across our Metal Injection Molding (MIM) operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on key equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults to minimize production downtime.
• Implement condition-based monitoring using sensors (vibration, temperature, pressure, etc.).
• Support data collection and feature extraction for predictive maintenance models.
• Assist in deploying machine learning algorithms in collaboration with the data analytics team.
• Work closely with IT/Digital/Automation teams to integrate sensor and equipment data into the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and real-time dashboards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records and prepare for the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in industrial maintenance.

Required Skills

• Strong troubleshooting capabilities; able to interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and control logic diagrams.
• Familiarity with predictive maintenance techniques and basic machine learning concepts is an advantage.

Preferred Skills
