- Possesses a valid Port Limit Engine Driver (2nd Class) license issued by the relevant maritime authority.

- Regularly go on board container and bulk carrier vessels to carry out inspections, measurements, and repair work. Up to 80% of your working week may be spent on board vessels. Weekend work will be required.
- Regularly travel to ports and shipyards in Singapore as well as anchorages in Singapore waters to carry out inspections, measurements and repair work. Up to 80% of your working week may be spent at ports, shipyards and anchorages. Weekend work will be required.
- Manage and supervise a team of welders, machinists, fitters, technicians and other repair workers both onboard vessels and in the company workshop
- Manage fabrication, welding, and balancing of vessel spare parts and components in the company workshop
- Effectively manage multiple repair jobs on different vessels simultaneously
- Plan manpower, materials, and work schedules for repair jobs
- Be responsible for timely delivery of repair jobs
- Provide cost estimates for repair enquiries
- Understand technical drawings
- Prepare inspection, technical, and service reports
- Create worklists, delivery orders, and other documentation
- Develop strong working relationships with suppliers and request price quotations for vessel spare parts, main engine components and tools
- Develop strong working relationships with ship captains, chief engineers, and crew
- Develop effective working relationships with various teams within the company
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Marine / Mechanical Engineering
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar capacity at a ship repair company, shipyard, ship owner company, or ship management company
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Fluent in English
- Must be a Singapore citizen or permanent resident (PR)
