Our client is a world leading tank storage company. They are looking for Shift Supervisor.
The role of the Shift Supervisor includes:
- Lead the team in investigations, troubleshooting and problem solving of incidents and abnormal observations
- Act as SMC (Site Main Controller) for emergencies arising during after office hours until the arrival of the Operations/ Terminal manager
- Lead team on process control, application, process recovery and emergency response
- Ensure reduction in Ship shore variance
- Maintain and own the Terminal Inventory management system
- Support coordination with the commissioning of Industrial plant turn around & planned maintenance
- Coordinate day to day permit to work
- Support Terminal maintenance / out of service / in service inspections
- Day to day compliance with VF and lead team members on compliance
- Lead Team discipline & Mentor and coach team members
- Initiate continuous improvement programs in terminal operations
- Manage day-to-day manpower administration and planning, workflow scheduling, and inter-departmental communication to ensure safe, smooth and efficient operations
- Lead in effective shift briefings and ensure key management objectives are communicated in a timely manner
- Lead Shift team members are trained on the relevant mandatory training
- Support communicate commissioning of new / old facilities prior handing over to the Operations team
- Support new projects and manage contractors and communicate
- Manage and prepare for all audits, e.g. customers, ISO, regulatory, THA and safety audits
- Ensure compliance with Terminal SHEQ and VF by Operations team and contractors (including 3rd party)
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements as a trained PFSO (Port Facility Security Officer), Working at Height supervisor and Permit-to-Work approval
- Compliance with local legislation and company's standards
- Manage relationships with internal and external customers
- Deliver on customers' expectations and requirements in a timely manner
- Participate in Operation Review
- Address concerns from customers
- Handle Complaint handling
- Manage customer expectation
- Address enquiries from Internal / External customers on the services and managing the expectation
- Train and develop team member in operational competency
- Train, coach and guide Operations team members in performance improvements
- Conduct staff performance review and appraisal
- Ensure completion of staff JCP assessments & follow up on competency gap closures
- Support ACE program as a SME (Subject Matter Expert) trainer
- Manage and develop people to ensure a cohesive and motivated team
- Lead & encourage the Team in a positive manner to adapt to changes in the company direction
- Supervise, train and coach technicians and contractors in activities relating to Operations work
- Assist in talent and succession planning of the workforce
- Manages, motivates and develops staff in the terminal operations department (applicable to Team Leader)
Requirements:
- Degree holder
- 5 years of relevant terminal operations experience in similar industry
- At least 3 years' experience as a Team Coordinator
- Wealth of hands-on knowledge of terminal operations and in depth site-specific knowledge
- In depth knowledge of products, equipment and a seasoned SHE expert
- Knowledge of safety, health and environmental regulations

Job Description
The Shift Supervisor is responsible for supervising and managing the direct staff of all production units within a designated shift. He/she coordinates the daily production floor activities and delegates assignments to production teams and individuals.
The Shift Supervisor manages the smooth running of the production processes to enhance product quality and maximise efficiency and performance enabling the products to be manufactured on time.
The Shift Supervisor will ensure that all products are produced to the specified specifications; target and deadlines are met. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures; and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
Your Responsibilities
- To take responsibility of the shift in terms of management of staff, management of production processes and quality targets
- Manage and motivate direct reporting employees by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring and appraising job results
- Initiate, coordinate and enforce the adherence to standard operating procedures, policies and procedures
- Set SMART individual targets and conduct employee performance reviews and disciplinary actions
- Plan, approve and administer the absence and leave planning of the production floor personnel; monitor and enforce working time, breaks and attendance
- Assist in the selection and training of direct reporting employees
- Develop and maintain training programs to ensure that all personnel have for now and the foreseeable future the necessary skills to perform their duties safely and productively
- Constantly monitor the accurate attainment to the production plan; initiate compliant measures to achieve given production targets and KPIs; analyze and report deviations and general issues to the responsible managers
- Maintain material and work flow throughout the manufacturing facility and ensure the workstations are supplied with material quickly and efficiently
- Ensure the adherence to set product quality specification and standards; manage quality issues quickly with minimal disruption to production scheduling; provide support in- and external audits
- Ensure a full and accurate completion of all SAP/ MES booking steps within the area of responsibility
- Ensure a timely initiation of corrective maintenance activities and support the release of equipment back to production use
- To have an active role in company's continuous improvement plan to achieve plans for future growth within the company
- Maintain close liaison with other Shift Supervisors to ensure smooth running of production with minimum downtime and wastage; ensure production handovers are effective communication tools
- Communicates effectively with the Production Manager CRM, informing and updating him/her regularly with regards to delivery dates, work progress, quality, cost reductions, manpower planning and operating problems
- Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe work environment at all times by educating and directing personnel
- To ensure that Health and Safety rules and regulations are adhered to during the shift and all matters relating to this are dealt with using the resources within the company
Your Profile
- Minimum Diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing or equivalent
- Continuing education in Production Management will be preferred
- At least 3 to 5 years of relevant working experiences in the medical device technology or pharmaceutical industry in supervisory capacity in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working in a clean room environment will be advantageous
- Good understanding of production and manufacturing processes and techniques
- Basic knowledge of Six Sigma will be advantageous
- Familiar with ISO13485 and GMP
- Proficient in SAP and MES
- Strong intercultural experience and excellent interpersonal skills

The project :

Your profile :
Diploma/ Degree in Life Science, Chemical Engineering, Science or equivalent
At least 10 years of pharmaceutical, experience in a GMP environment (preferably API)
Minimum of 2 years of people management experience is preferred
Able to work comfortably in 12-hour rotating shift (Day/Night)
Leadership experience in training less experienced Chemical Technicians required
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English
