What the role is
You assist the development, operationalisation and management of cyber sensors in support of cybersecurity operations. You also support ongoing research for innovative and emerging sensor technologies and algorithms that will provide more accurate, timely, and actionable detection of cyber threats.
What you will be working on
- Assist with the development, procurement, and implementation of cyber sensor solutions that can be used to enhance operations
- Prepare regular updates on the development, operationalisation, and maintenance of cyber sensors to relevant stakeholders
- Support ongoing research for innovative and emerging trends in cyber sensor-related developments
- Maintain intimate knowledge of current sensor technologies, tools, and techniques
Challenge(s) - Thinking out-of-the-box, improvising, as well as adapting tools and techniques in order to develop comprehensive operational plans with stakeholders
- Ensuring compliance and timely delivery of cyber sensor-related goods and services
What we are looking for
- Education in Information Security, Computer Science, or Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering-related fields
- At least 3 years of work experience un cybersecurity and/or defence-related fields is preferred

He/she should be familiar with embedded systems, wireless communication and software development for Sensors and IoT solutions.
What You Will Be Working On
Research and experiment with the emerging Sensors and IoT technologies / trends to identify new opportunities or threats in the area of sense-making and surveillance
Design and implement end-to-end sensor and IoT solutions for on-prem and cloud-based platforms
Implement data collection, storage and analytics solutions to manage, process and analyse data generated by sensor and IoT devices
Test, debug, and troubleshoot sensor and IOT systems to identify and resolve issues related to performance, network connectivity, or data transmission
Work closely with various stakeholders, including engagement managers, product teams and project managers as part of the solution delivery to ensure user requirements are met
Provide advisory to support Whole-of-Government sensor and IoT projects
What We Are Looking For
A Bachelor/Master’s degree in Electrical/Software Engineering or Computer Science. Additional certifications or specialized courses in IoT or sensor technologies will be advantageous.
Experience with different surveillance sensors solution (e.g., CCTV system) and/or edge compute devices such as Nvidia Jetson, Arduino or Raspberry-PI.
Knowledge in networking principles, communication protocols (e.g., Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, LoRa, NB-IoT), and is able to configure and troubleshoot network connections.
Able to interface and integrate different sensors into a cohesive solution with a backend software stack.
Proficient in data analysis and visualization methods using tools such as Python libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib) or data analytics platforms (e.g., Tableau, Qlik) to process and interpret sensor data.
Knowledge of IoT security best practices and common security threats to ensure data privacy, integrity and authentication.
Able to communicate technical concepts and conduct demos in a clear and effective manner to stakeholders of varying technical background.
Possess good stakeholder engagement skills and able work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
