Are you a recent PhD graduate in physics with a passion for precision measurement and quantum technologies? The Quantum Innovation Centre at A*STAR is seeking an independent and motivated scientist to join our team in advancing the frontier of atomic magnetometry.
About the Role:
You will be supervised to conduct research on atomic magnetometers with a focus on reducing systematic effects, contributing to the development of high performance quantum sensors for real world applications. This is a hands on, collaborative role where you will work closely with a multi disciplinary team of scientists and engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform optical design and alignment .
- P rogram and operate laboratory equipment for data acquisition and control.
- A nalyze experimental data and contribute to the development of improved sensor designs.
- P articipate in technical discussions and contribute to scientific publications and reports .
- A PhD in Physics or related fields
- Experience in at least one of the following areas: Experimental atomic, molecular, and/or optical physics; Programming of laboratory equipment (e.g., using Python), Data acquisition and analysis, Mechanical design (e.g., using CAD tools) and Electronics design (e.g., PCB layout, circuit simulation).
- S trong problem solving skills and a hands on approach to experimentation.
- E xcellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Are you a recent graduate or early career engineer eager to work on cutting edge technologies? The Quantum Innovation Centre at A*STAR is looking for an independent and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our team in developing next generation quantum sensors for real world applications.
About the Role:
As a mechanical engineer, you will be part of a multi disciplinary and collaborative team working on the design, assembly, and testing of optomechanical components. You will gain hands on experience and be mentored by experienced engineers and scientists in a supportive and intellectually stimulating environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist in the design of optomechanical sub components and mechanical housings for quantum sensors using computer assisted design (CAD) tools.
· Support the assembly and testing of mechanical and thermal systems for quantum sensors.
· O versee the procurement of relevant goods and services, including liaising with vendors.
· C ollaborate with physicists, electronics engineers, and other team members to ensure seamless integration of mechanical components.
· Learn and grow under the guidance of a dedicated supervisor, gaining valuable industry experience in a high tech R&D setting.
Job Requirements:
· Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical Engineering,Thermal Engineering, Optical Physics, Applied Physics, or a related field.
· Some experience with CAD software (e.g., FreeCAD, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or similar).
· S trong interest in precision engineering and emerging technologies.

Document projects progress and provide written reports when required.
Requirements:
Bachelor, Master or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field
At least 5 years of relevant industry experience or a PhD in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related field.
Proven experience in; Digital and analog PCB design, Programming of microcontrollers (e.g., STM32, Arduino, etc.) and/or FPGAs (e.g., Xilinx, Intel/Altera).
Strong understanding of embedded systems, signal integrity, and hardware software co-design.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced R&D environment.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
