  • Dispense medication, drugs in accordance with the doctor's prescription. Advise on side effects, dosing intervals and contraindication when needed. Manages and ensure healthy stock level. Raise Purchase requisition for purchase and obtain approval. Perform stock check and all other dispensary related duties as necessary
  • Assist in performing treadmill stress test under close supervision of the doctor on duty
  • Identify life threatening ECG patterns and alert the doctor on duty immediately
  • Perform finger prick blood tests and urine tests, including Interpreting and record urine test
  • Conduct diabetic retinal photography and diabetic foot screening onsite and offsite (or willing to be trained to perform this)
  • Conduct nurse counselling to patients (or willing to be trained to perform this)
  • Work closely with doctor to manage and control drug inventory and stock level
  • Monitor stock level of all consumables, reagents, and stationery. Raise Purchase requisition forms for purchase when needed
  • Collect and record basic biodata (e.g., visual acuity, near/distant, colour vision, wt, ht, BMI)
  • Perform vaccination and injection. Including the Administration and interpretation of Mantoux test
  • Assist the doctor on duty in carrying out any treatment or clinical procedures
  • Setting up appointments for patients and educate on pre-appointment preparation when needed
  • Ensure that resuscitation trolley and accessories are fully equipped, and all accessories are in optimal working order paying special attention to expiry date and condition of all items
  • Simple wound dressing and removal of stitches under instruction of the doctor
  • Perform phlebotomy when needed. Understand the indication and importance of the various laboratory investigations. Ensure proper patient's identification and patient's compliance with test requirement. Observe pre blood collection, blood collection and post blood collection procedure
  • Responsible for the administrative duties related to phlebotomy including labelling of samples and follow up
  • Provides patient education as and when necessary
  • Keep proper record, monitor, and do the necessary follow up on all preventive maintenance and repair for all equipment in clinical areas
  • Supervise personnel at senior enrolled nurse and below to ensure quality nursing care is rendered to patient

Other responsibilities:

  • Participate in all activities related to the smooth running of the clinic including orientation of new clinical staff.
  • Lead staff and exercise economy and care in the use of equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain a safe & clean environment for the patients at all times.
  • Ensure services delivered are prompt, professional and customer focus at all times.
  • Effectively handle customers' inquiries, complaint, and feedback to achieve positive resolution.
  • Facilitate evaluation and continuous improvement of services.
  • Maintain current knowledge of types of investigations and components in Health Screening Packages available in clinic and able to advise on the most appropriate package. Provide counselling advise of beneficial health services to customers when necessary
  • Attend continuing education to upgrade nursing knowledge. Train clinical staff.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Centre Manager and HQ.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum Diploma in Nursing or equivalent
  • BCLS & AED certification required
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical experience. Applicants with 7 years or more experience may be considered for senior position

RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Responsibilities

  • Give nursing care, including medication, treatment and dealing with emergencies as well as supervision of the personal hygiene of the residents;
  • Teach, guide and discipline the resident;
  • Ensure the general cleanliness of the premises;
  • Ensure that the treatment room, sickbay, time out room and nurse's station are kept clean and tidy

Duties

  • Managing and planning roster for staff.
  • Screen, treat and provide nursing care to sick residents;
  • Attend/carry out routine procedures for all new admissions and residents returned from absconding;
  • Refer sick residents for medical examination by the doctor;
  • Arrange the appointment cards and transport of residents attending appointments at hospitals and polyclinics;
  • Follow-up on residents who have been referred to hospitals;
  • Update the residents' medical cards daily eg. diagnosis, treatment, transfer, appointments and discharges from hospitals;
  • Serve medication to residents and supervise residents at meal times;
  • Give first-aid treatment for emergency cases;
  • Refer ill residents to hospital in the absence of the doctor;
  • Supervise and mentor new Staff Nurses, Senior Enrolled Nurses and Enrolled Nurses
  • Supervise the needs of residents who are attending morning school or going to work;
  • Carry out necessary investigation arising from any incident that had taken place in the Home and update the Superintendent and Manager;
  • Order and maintain supplies and equipment;
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Recognised nursing qualification and registered with the Singapore Nursing Board


OTHER INFORMATION
  • Preferably candidate with at least 6 years of working experience;

RESPONSIBILITIES

The job holder is responsible to provide personalized and cost-effective care to the residents in the nursing home in accordance to established policies and procedures, standards of nursing care and practices. He/she deputizes the ANM in his/her absence.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties (80%)

· Comply with approved standards of nursing practices and maintenance of professional standard through continuing education and development

· Provide nursing services requiring substantial and advanced specialized nursing skills

· Work closely with resident's doctor and multidisciplinary team to provide care to the residents

· Update on changes in resident's conditions and needs

· Ensure care delivery and nursing interventions as outlined in the care plan

· Evaluate the resident's response to care interventions and recommends revision of care plan as necessary

· Work with Allied Health professionals and/or initiate preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures

· Carry out and supervise assessments of new admissions

· Prepare and administer medications to residents and comply with safe medication administration practices

· Responsible for safe keeping of control drugs

· Participate in training and development of staff including orientation and induction training for new and junior staff

· Prepare roster and daily staff assignment for the ward/dept including special assignment

· Manage any emergency that arises and ensure prompt actions to mitigate the situation and escalate promptly to supervisor, where necessary

· Work with staff to maintain a safe and clean environment in the nursing home

Secondary Responsibilities and duties (20%)

· Participate and coordinate in quality assurance activities to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of nursing care including MDM, GWR and palliative round

· Participate in quality audits that are planned and conducted periodically

· Contribute to the evaluation of staff performance appraisal with Nurse Manager

· Deputize the ANM in his/her absence

· Assume additional responsibilities as assigned by Assistant Nurse Manager, Nurse Manager, Senior Nurse Manager and Director of Nursing (DON)

· For night duty

  • Receive endorsements for all the Residences
  • Provide clinical oversight and support for the junior nurses in all the Residences
  • Administer medications for all residents as ordered
  • Prepare medications for the morning shift ensuring all medications are topped up
  • Continuous monitoring for residents who are sick, on comfort care, behavior issues and on restraints
  • Make rounds frequently at regular intervals
  • Check the environment and the residents of all the levels during the rounds
  • Check and change NGT if due and IDC replacement if any
  • Update the progress notes in clinical system (e.g. ECCaresuite) and hand over special endorsements to the morning shift
  • Check and prepare residents for appointments and update any residents for Doctor's review

JOB REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor of Nursing or Diploma in Nursing and its equivalent; having an Advance Diploma in Gerontology is an advantage

· Possess a valid registration with Singapore Nursing Board

· Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience

· Required to be certified with BCLS and AED
