Network Engineer

RESPONSIBILITY

. Develop automation and processes to enable teams to deploy, manage scale and monitor their applications in data centers and in cloud.

. System troubleshooting and problem solving across platform and application domains, expect to participate in on-call escalations to troubleshoot customer facing issues.

. Take ownership of end-to-end solutions provided by teams across the organisation.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS NEEDED

. Excellent knowledge on the fundamentals such as IPv4/IPv6 addressing, VLAN, switching and routing configurations, Application performance

management using Load balancers, Server Operating Systems (such as Windows and Linux) networking and OSI layer Protocols.

. Experience in designing, implementing, operating and troubleshooting networking devices and technologies (Structured Cabling, WAN, LAN, Network Security, Wireless and Voice) in standardised operating environment.

. Experience in one or more provisioning tools for network infrastructure such as Ansible, Vagrant, Docker, Puppet to manage configurations using automation.

. Skills essential for the role would be Firewall/IDS/IPS rules optimisation, load balancing of applications, network devices configuration & hardening, NAT, DNS, DHCP and Wireless network health management.

. Understanding of security concepts such as Network Access Control (NAC), Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Cybersecurity threats and mitigations Content Distribution Network (CDN).

. Understanding of networking technologies such as Software Defined Infrastructure (SD-WAN, Open Vswitch, VXLan, OpenFlow, OpenStack and CloudStack), Network Functions Virtualization (operate network functions in virtual machines), Secure Access Service Edge ( Zero Trust Network Access, Cloud Access Security Broker and Secure Web Gateways) and Internet of Things(loT) will be advantageous.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible in collaborating across network and orchestration teams to ensure the smooth delivery of end-to-end network slicing and automation solutions. This roles requires good expertise in networking technologies, including routing, switching, firewalls and VPN configurations.

This role is based in Tampines.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure network performance on availability, stability is aligned with SLAs and KPIs.
• Work with IT teams to ensure network scalability, compliance and performance.
• Maintain and troubleshoot firewalls, VPN concentrators and security appliances.
• Manage network security configurations, including VPN tunnels, firewalls, and IPS rules.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity team to enforce security best practices.
• Validate the Software Defined Network (SDN) infrastructure within the IT ecosystem.
• Maintain network documentation, including topology diagrams, security protocols and operational procedures.
• Support network migration, infrastructure upgrades and cloud networking on GCP.
• Create reports and documentation outlining findings and solutions.
• Review compliance with information security policies and standards.
• Ensure disaster recovery plan testing activities are performed and technical criteria are met.
• Identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and are familiar with common security threats like malware and phishing.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in network engineering, preferably in roles involving Cisco technologies, IT infrastructure, or network administration.
• Proven track record in deploying and managing wireless network solutions.
• Practical expertise with Fortinet and/or Palo Alto firewall systems.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA or CompTIA Network+.
• Additional cybersecurity credentials like CompTIA Security+ or ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity are a plus.
• Working knowledge of the ITIL framework and its application in IT service management.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills using tools like Wireshark, packet capture analysis, and command-line utilities.
• Good analytical mindset with the ability to resolve complex network incidents under pressure.
• Solid understanding of LAN/WAN architectures, VPN configurations, and network security best practices.
• Experience with cloud networking, particularly within Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture and its implementation principles.
• Basic understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
