Position Summary

Engineering Project Management. The Project Engineer would be responsible for coordinating meetings with the Client and other key stakeholders of the project. Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of shipbuilding processes—including ship design, construction methods, naval architecture, and marine engineering principles—to oversee and coordinate various aspects of shipbuilding projects.
  • Provide technical inputs during design reviews and support the resolution of project challenges as they arise. Liaise with both internal and external stakeholders to address technical issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Ensure proper document control processes in coordination with the Document Controller. Ensure compliance with ISO standards and company processes.

  • Undertake any necessary audit to ensure strict compliance with established processes and procedures.
  • Assume responsibility for store management including stock counts and annual stock take exercise with the help of the store personnel.
  • Support ISO audit process and certification.
  • As a member of the senior management team, to be prepared to lead or support other projects and tasks that arise, in order to deliver business objectives.
  • Contribute to the strategic vision and goals of the engineering department and align with overall business objectives.

Job Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess a Degree in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Job Description

Engineering Manager responsible to coordinate, monitor and control all engineering and project management related activities during the planning phase. During project execution (detail design, construction and commissioning), he/she supports the Project Manager with regard to all engineering issue.

Responsibilities

  • The EM will be responsible for planning, resourcing, and managing the engineering organization throughout the project

  • The EM will ensure clarity and alignment for all team members

  • Engineering Management. This entails scope definition and allocation to the team with clear accountability set up, implementation of the review / approval process and schedule / priority management of deliverables. Engineering Management covers all engineering activities including the subcontractors (engineering or EPC) and equipment vendors

  • Typically there will be extensive interface duties required with Procurement, Construction and Commissioning processes

  • In tendering, EM to identify the scope, requirement and assist in cost estimation.

  • The EM will be responsible for the relevant parties within the client, the management, partners, vendors, yards and sub-contractors

  • This includes clarifying and managing expectations in multiple directions for optimal project delivery

  • HSE Management. Ensure highest level of HSE performance within design / engineering aspects of the project This will include the full range of HSE activities including standard setting, leading by example, communicating, monitoring, and putting in place positive and negative consequences depending on events/outcome

  • The project will also typically entail the management of a safety case

  • Project Administration. Support Project manager with activities as required including reporting, project cost and schedule control, invoicing, risk management, etc

  • Prepare and maintain the project organization, managing plan and staffing plan.

  • Prepare and support engineering specific decisions.

  • Develop project objectives in cooperation with the business unit

  • Completion of conceptual planning extended conceptual planning and detail engineering including the design change management.

  • Verify that engineering services and purchased technical goods meet the contractual agreements and the quality requirements.

Requirements

  1. Engineering background with good operational understanding of oil and gas industry EPC project practice

  2. Good knowledge of international code and standard such as ASME, API, AWS, BS, NFPA etc. Singapore standard such as SS532 and BCA requirement

  3. Good communication ability at all levels

  4. Able to write effectively (i.e. Regulatory Reports, case review, training session on operational topics)

  5. Flexibility, anticipation, and reactivity

  6. Competent in training/education/communication
