KEY TASKS

Oversee quarterly production of L&H reserves for Group results (IFRS 17, SII), ensuring robustness.
Support annual assumption setting, reviewing experience analysis and working with team leaders.
Guide APAC L&H actuarial teams on methodology, techniques, and judgment.
Implement process improvement initiatives within APAC.
Coordinate with auditors on actuarial topics.
Assist Central teams in reviewing APAC market results.
Manage end-to-end reserving for Singapore statutory reporting, including RBC2 results and stress testing.
Collaborate with Capital Management to forecast insurance risks and manage capital.
Support statutory reporting for Korea (Seoul Branch).

Qualifications
Experience:
Qualified or nearly qualified Actuary (FSA, FIA, or FIAA).
Extensive experience in IFRS17, Solvency II, experience analysis, or local statutory reporting in APAC; IFRS17 experience is highly desirable.
Knowledge of data analytics tools such as R, SQL, or Python is advantageous.
Proficiency in Korean language is a plus for supporting colleagues in Korea.

About the role:
Key responsibilities
Prepare and support the quarterly actuarial valuation of APAC L&H business under various reporting bases (US GAAP, SII, IFRS17, MAS, HK RBC, VIF, BMA)
Maintain documentation of methodologies, processes, procedures, controls and results
Set up and maintain actuarial valuation models for various lines of business with a focus on DMTM business
Monitoring and tracking of DMTM business including reconciliation of cedant accounts/data against marketing companies campaign data
Prepare the quarterly APAC valuation result review and reporting
Support continuous enhancement in processes and controls
Provide support for both internal and external audits

Job Description
The Senior Actuarial Analyst plays a pivotal role in driving business growth and profitability through the development and implementation of actuarially sound pricing strategies.
This key member of the APAC Personal Lines Pricing and Portfolio Management team collaborates closely with local and regional business units, underwriting teams, and other functions to achieve strategic objectives. The Senior Actuarial Analyst is responsible for delivering timely and accurate pricing analysis, rate reviews, and recommendations that impact the company's bottom line.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting actuarially sound pricing analysis for new business opportunities, rate reviews, and rate change recommendations.
- Developing, maintaining, and ensuring raters are up-to-date with the latest assumptions and continuously improving functionalities to increase efficiency and turnaround time for underwriters.
- Maintaining robust portfolio management and monitoring of rate levels, rate changes, and rate adequacy.
- Engaging proactively with underwriters and business teams to share insights and findings from analysis, with recommendations on rate or underwriting actions to improve profitability.
- Collaborating with local and regional Product, Claims, Finance, Underwriting, IT, and Data Analytics functions to ensure data used for pricing and monitoring is complete, accurate, adequate, and timely.
- Carrying out loss ratio and lapse analysis for business sold through direct marketing to determine appropriate assumptions used for campaign approval and monitoring.
- Supporting profit studies and developing budget loss ratios for assigned countries and segments.
- Peer reviewing and collaborating with reserving actuaries in annual detailed valuation review.
Candidates with strong actuarial experience, preferably in pricing and portfolio management of personal lines business including but not limited to Accident & Health, Auto, and Home insurance, are required.
Working experience in the insurance industry is essential, along with proven proficiency in actuarial concepts and methodologies, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and thorough understanding of general insurance including underwriting policies, claims handling policies, and local legislation.
Strong GLM technical modeling skills using software such as Radar or Emblem, and data management using SQL, Tableau, or Power BI are also required. Ability and willingness to pick up coding, programming languages, and database skills are essential.
Excellent communication, both written and verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills are necessary. Highly motivated individuals with strong attention to detail, willingness to learn, and adapt in a dynamic and fast-changing environment are ideal candidates.
