ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Responsible for onsite security functions

Adherence to the Thales rules, HSEQ procedures, applicable legislation, lawful instructions and other requirements.

KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As aSecurity Operations Officer, you are accountable for:

Administrative:

Badge access preparation:

· liaise with TSA security on badge preparation and follow up if need.

· Photo taking of employees for new hires, faulty badges including updating of employee photos every 2-3 years and updating of photo in access control system.

· Configuration of access after approval is given by department owner.

· Ensure the access matrix is updated and aligned with department secretary.

Updating, preparation, deletion and archiving of employee access records according to security policy

· to ensure access configured for employees are on a need to basis

· to prepare access reports and to be approved by individual department owner on quarterly / half year basis

· To follow up with HR on the resignee

· To ensure deletion and archiving of record whenever there is leaver from the company from access control system and Badge Provisioning

Physical key checks on monthly / adhoc basis to account for primary physical keys and spare physical key

· Taking over, handing over and tagging of physical keys in key holder

· to ensure that location is properly secured in the event there is a power failure to avoid any security risk

· to ensure that employee withdraw the key when required

Archiving of documents for audit and reference purpose

· to ensure the documentation are readily available during audit

· to ensure exit clearance in DIS is updated after updates and follow up with HR.

Operations:

Perform Security briefing to new hires to ensure they are aware of the security policy in DIS

· To brief security policy for employees in DIS on adhoc basis

· To follow up on the yearly security awareness briefing for TSA and office employees if needed

To configure the necessary access for employees / visitors

· to maintain the continuous records trail of employees movement going into TSA zone, Production and office zone

Attend to any security incident

· To maintain the security presence as well as updating the management on possible security risk

· Review of cctv recording if incident arises or reported when needed.

Physical check to ensure compliance to security policy including the below:

· Escorting and overseeing security vendor for project basis

· Escorting and overseeing security vendor for security equipment maintenance

Security operation support

· Act as a rotation backup in the event the appointed agency has shortage of manpower

· To be versatile to manage the security operation when required.

· To follow up on safety issue as and when required.

· To support on weekend shredding

· Other duties as and when required.

· You shall at all times during the employment with the company, respect and comply with the Thales security requirements during the performance of his/her duties.

· You have the responsibility to understand and apply all rules concerning Health, Security and Environment (HSE) that are applicable to the position including use of products, handling and posture, operation instructions and personal protection equipment

KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

To be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience:

· Minimum 2-3 years working in a fast paced security command centre environment

· Minimum O Level & above

What you will be working on
Do you want to play a critical role in securing our smart nation initiatives by uncovering weaknesses in various domains of cybersecurity programs even before the real threat actors come to play? And are you up to race against the real threat actors before organisations are compromised?
GovTech is hiring a cybersecurity engineer to be deployed to supported Ministry/agency. This individual must be familiar with security operations including threat intelligence, incident response, forensic knowledge and tooling such as ASM, SIEM, SecOps, Nessus etc.
Lead and coordinate incident response activities, including detection, analysis, containment, eradication, and recovery from security and data incidents.
Develop and maintain incident response plans, playbooks, and procedures to ensure effective and efficient response to security incidents.
Conduct post-incident analysis and provide recommendations for improving security posture and resilience.
Support threat intelligence and vulnerability notification activities to ensure relevant information is disseminate to the relevant stakeholders.
Monitor and analyse security events and alerts from cloud and on-premises environments and take appropriate actions to mitigate security risks.
Collaborate with Govtech Operation and Incident Response teams for alerts and incident activities.
Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices in incident response, DevSecOps, and cloud security.
Support security tools such as CSPM, VMS, ASM etc and follow up as part of remediation.
Perform or support threat hunting and forensic activities where applicable.
Partner with Chief Information Security Officers, stakeholders, project teams, and outsourced vendors to ensure security objectives are achieved.
Manage stakeholder relationships to ensure that cybersecurity services delivered meet their expectations.
What we are looking for
Possess degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electronics Engineering or Information Technology or related disciplines.
Possess minimum 5 years of IT security experience in areas such as IT security operation, threat intelligence and malware analysis.
Able to articulate cybersecurity risks, mitigation measures and residual risks orally and in writing to stakeholders, in an easily understood and actionable manner.
Familiar with scripting language, for example, YARA, Perl, Python, Javascript or Powershell
Possess knowledge of security technologies such as ASM, SIEM, SecOps, CSPM etc. Preferably with Google SecOps/Chronicles knowledge, frameworks (such as MITRE ATT&CK framework), and security domains (such as network security, cloud security and application security).
Possess knowledge of system security architecture concepts including network topology, protocols, components and principles (e.g. application of Defence in Depth), and able to specify where and how security controls should be applied to or engineered into the security design.
Being a team player with good interpersonal skills.
Possess good written, verbal and presentation skills.
Possess GCIH and GCFA equivalent certification. Having AWS Security, or related certifications would be of added advantage.
Able to work and communicate with all levels from senior management level to working level.
