Role Overview
We’re looking for a Chemistry Teacher who is patient, reliable, and committed to helping students improve. You’ll be teaching secondary and/or JC students in group settings, using both classroom and hands-on lab sessions. This role is suited for someone who takes pride in breaking down tough topics, guiding students through challenges, and working closely with a teaching team.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Content Delivery- Teach Chemistry lessons clearly and confidently using Achievers Dream’s teaching system
- Conduct engaging lessons and explain concepts in ways that students can understand and apply
- Use a mix of written practice, discussions, and real-life examples to reinforce key concepts
- Guide students during practical lab sessions in our NEA-approved Chemistry Lab
- Ensure safety, understanding, and hands-on experience during experiments
- Help students prepare for school practical exams with confidence
- Track student progress and provide feedback to help them improve
- Answer student questions and guide them through exam-style questions and weak topics
- Offer additional support when needed (e.g. consults, feedback to parents)
- Mark student scripts and worksheets with accuracy and fairness
- Assist with centre events such as mock practicals
- Help invigilate mock exams or practical assessments
- Provide backup support for logistics and classroom transitions
- Work closely with other teachers to plan lessons, share insights, and maintain consistency
- Communicate with the admin team on scheduling and class updates
- Participate in training and internal discussions to continually improve teaching quality
