NLCS (Singapore) is looking for an enthusiastic, highly dependable and committed Whole School Learning Support Teaching Assistant to start in December 2025, reporting to the Head of Individual Needs. The Individual Needs (IN) Department has a whole school (PreKG to Grade 12) responsibility to provide support to students and remove barriers to learning.
Knowledge and Understanding
- Possess the specialist learning support knowledge for the role to develop resources and strategies to enable student learning
- Have standard English and Maths competencies
- Understand SEN definitions and strategies
Student Support
- Collaborate as part of the Learning Support team in the implementation of strategies for students on the Individual Needs register
- Contribute to the production and review of Individual Needs Plans for students
- Assist identified students in bridging knowledge gaps
- In-class support with individuals/groups of children
- Work with small groups of children out of class to provide intervention support, for example in: english, maths, planning and fine motor skills
- Plan group work sessions such as guided reading in conjunction with the Head of Individual Needs
- Support students on local trips as directed by the Head of Individual Needs.
- Investigate and source resources that will support learning support planning
- Participate in departmental meetings and professional development that impacts on student's learning
- Track the progress of individuals and groups of students and the effectiveness of intervention using intervention monitoring sheets
- Contribute to the departmental development plan
- Contribute to the termly Governor's review
Communication
- Communicate with colleagues, and parents as appropriate, maintaining confidentiality and working with sensitivity
- Attending and contributing to meetings of a professional nature
- Regular meetings with Head of Individual Needs to monitor and evaluate provision, intervention and practice
- Contribute to providing feedback to students
General
- Maintain the department stationary stocks in all teaching areas and Learning Support Office
- Assist in the management of data, maintaining department registers
- Maintenance of the departments' photocopying and laminating requirements, together with filing and notice board updates
- Contribute to the development and training of relevant support staff
- Complete the appraisal Target and Review Tracker in line with school policy
- Work in areas of the school in other job-related tasks as circumstances require

- Liaise with and support colleagues in all matters pertaining to pastoral well-being, responsibility and strategy.
- Follow the school's policies and procedures with regard to pastoral provision.
- Support students on the Learning Support register in class during special days, events, sports days, concerts, performances and during off site visits, as appropriate
