We are seeking a Commissioning Technician to manage the design, installation, and testing of marine electronics and communications equipment onboard shipping vessels, both locally and overseas. You will work closely with the Commissioning Manager and project/energy teams to ensure smooth project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support implementation, assembly, design, and testing with project or system engineers.
- Carry out installation, termination, testing, and troubleshooting of Navigation, IT, SCADA, and Communication systems/equipment in workshop and onboard vessels.
- Assist with or perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) with clients.
- Recommend operational improvements and contribute to process enhancements.
- Diagnose, investigate, and repair system faults to ensure equipment performs to specifications.
- Prepare accurate reports, timesheets, and service documentation as per company/client standards.
- Collaborate with the Service Department to resolve technical enquiries.
- Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
- Ability to work under tight schedules and minimal supervision.
- Willingness to travel on short notice.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Physically capable and available to work overtime, including weekends/public holidays.
- Experience in marine or offshore telecommunication systems is preferred but not mandatory.
- Fresh graduates are welcome; onboard mentorship and on-the-job training (OJT) will be provided.
