Report, take work execution and direction from Safety Engineer

Security Management

Development, implementation and maintenance of the security procedures, countermeasures, awareness

Perform Security Risk Assessment to ensure compliance and impact needs

Responsible for site physical security, security controls, travel security management, security threat impact analysis and mitigation of site security incident and threat management

Manage onsite security manpower (contract 3rd party), contracts and performance of the security team

Interfacing with external vendors, Maintenance and Facility Functions to ensure minimum physical security functions are available

Responsible and Leading Turnaround Events

As a bridge between Safety and Turnaround organization to ensure safety requirements are aligned and executed

The position based in Kolhapur Location JB 10 does not provide accommodation. As a Safety Officer, your primary responsibility is to ensure adherence to all safety instructions in coordination with department HODs to prevent any accidents in the factory premises. You will be analyzing reasons behind accidents and incidents and planning preventive and corrective actions in coordination with the concerned department HODs. It is crucial to implement audit findings to develop a safe and secure work environment and spread awareness regarding safety amongst employees through coordinating safety-related training. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with all safety-related statutory requirements in the factory and review documentation related to ISO 9000, 14000, and OHSAS 18000 systems.The production facility poses challenges as it consists of many old machines that are prone to breakdowns. The processing routes are frequently altered as per customer requirements, necessitating monitoring of old machines to ensure proper functioning under different conditions. With a mix of old and new machines, excellence in working with all machines is essential. Overcoming resistance to adopt new work culture and systems/practices among older workmen is another challenge that requires continuous enforcement for successful implementation.Key Result Areas:1. Multi-site Safety Specialist will be responsible for Workplace, Health & Safety (WHS) function across three operational sites and will partner with Operations team at fulfillment centers to implement safety improvements.

Successful candidate will:

• Be able to lead WHS risk assessments, provide guidance to the stakeholders on risk levels and acceptable risk controls; lead incident investigations and guide the team to establish sustainable and effective corrective and preventive measures

• Track safety trends and provide insights to the leadership on learning, key focus areas and actions planning.

• Lead the implementation of WHS programs and procedures in Singapore

• Measure sites’ performance against published requirements in WHS policies. For all deficiencies, identify a plan for the site to implement and fix all identified deficiencies.

• Well versed to work in highly metricized portfolio within WHS

• Perform site WHS inspections to identify all non-compliant equipment and/or processes at the site. Implement solutions to eliminate exposure to these risks and prevent injury across sites.

• Audit record-keeping practices and Global WHS Database entries to be aligned with Global WHS standards and local regulations.

• Analyses the workplace organization and Associate behaviors to ensure that training, auditing and scoring methods are accurate and consistent.

• Lead joint safety committees

• Implement global WHS programs, initiatives and network actions at Singapore sites

• Lead incident investigations and derive sustainable corrective action plans

• Be available to provide WHS support for expansion projects within Singapore

• Liaise with WSH regulatory authorities as per internal guidelines, as and when required

Basic qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental, or equivalent

• 6+ years of increasing responsibilities in WHS programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations experience

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications and the use of pivot tables and the development of charts and graphics

• Experience implementing EHS procedures and process improvement in an operational environment

Preferred qualifications:

• Singapore Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer or Equivalent qualification

• Experience in managing WSH compliance in fulfillment center / warehouse operations / manufacturing industries

• Fair understanding of Ergonomics and Industrial Hygiene with application of these principles in work environment

• Proficiency in Singapore and Asia regional safety and environmental regulations, as well as corporate EHS policies and compliance standards.
• A minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience in an Operations and/or EHS role in a large-scale manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Certification as a Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer with the Singapore Ministry of Manpower.
• A Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or related discipline is desirable.
