What you will be working on
You will develop strategies, policies and programmes to strengthen workplace safety and health thus reducing workplace injuries, promoting good mental and physical workforce health, and ensuring adequate financial protection in the case of work injuries. You will have the opportunity to:
• Review policies and legislations such as Workplace Safety and Health Act and Work Injury Compensation Act. This includes working on legislative amendments and drafting parliamentary speeches for the bills to be passed.
• Work with other government agencies, unions, industry associations, non-government organisations, employers, supervisors and employees to develop effective workplace safety and health initiatives. This includes supporting employees' mental well-being at workplaces, a growing area of concern.
• Study overseas best practices for workplace safety and health and work injury compensation, that can be considered to advance Singapore's workplace safety and health outcomes and work injury compensation framework.

What the role is:
To provide specialist support and guidance in workplace health hazard identification, evaluation and control to meet the needs of stakeholders, and help ensure continual improvement in workplace environmental conditions by working in collaboration with internal and external partners, through programmes and activities in the areas of Occupational Hygiene standards, research and best practices.
What you will be working on:
You will be part of a dynamic team that is responsible for providing technical and specialist support on Occupational Hygiene at workplaces, including those of safe management measures. Your roles and responsibilities includes:
Set and enforce Occupational Hygiene standards at the national level for the control of health hazards (e.g. noise, chemicals, heat, ergonomics and lighting) at the workplace.
Conduct inspection and investigation at workplaces to ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health.
Ensure that Occupational Hygiene investigations, enforcements and surveillance activities, as well as programmes (e.g. chemical management, noise and asbestos control programmes) are effective and keeping with technological developments.
Conduct operational and field research on Occupational Hygiene to delineate high risk workplaces and evaluate exposure risks; explore hygiene assessment and investigation tools; and find innovative solutions and alternative technologies in hazard prevention and control.
Lead or participate in the development of legislations, Singapore Standards, Codes of Practice and other technical materials in the field of Occupational Hygiene. This will also include conducting review of relevant local and international standards to determine its relevancy and recommend appropriate requirements for adoption as reasonably practicable measures in ensuring the safe conduct of work.
Work with the Workplace Safety and Health Council and Workplace Safety and Health Institute to promote best practices and build capability in occupational safety and health among safety and health professionals, employers, employees, service providers, and other stakeholders.
What we are looking for:
Background in Mechanical, Chemical or Environmental Engineering;
Preferably 2 years’ experience in Occupational Hygiene or occupational safety and health work;

Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, we are currently looking for a risk professional with CCP Clearing Risk and modelling experience to join the Risk Management Department.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage APEX's clearing risks effectively and comprehensively in line with approved Risk policies.
- Review and update risk policies and procedures to align with IOSCO-PFMI guidelines, regulatory requirements, and directives from the Board Risk Committees.
- Maintain and improve appropriate risk models such as margining, collateral, and stress testing for APEX, which is the key responsibility for this role.
- Identify opportunities and/or gaps to enhance data quality and existing reporting processes.
- Conduct day shift and night shift duties regarding clearing risk management as per required.
- Handle end-of-day stress test reports, back test reports, liquidity risk reports, bank counterparty and Guaranty Fund reports, etc.
- Review and test APEX's contingency plans, including default management and recovery plans, to ensure smooth operability.
- Conduct credit scoring to rate APEX's members and counterparties.
- Conduct regular risk reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Execute enterprise risk management tasks as arranged by the Chief Risk Officer.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Chief Risk Officer from time to time.
Requirements:
- University degree or above with at least 5 years of experience managing the risks of a clearing house or future brokerage, or equivalent experience.
- Good understanding of financial products such as futures and options.
- Strong knowledge of margining, risk models and methodologies.
- Strong quantitative skills, preferably with working knowledge of programming languages / software such as Excel, Python and VBA.
- Motivated and able to produce quality work under pressure.
- Strong analytical ability to analyze risk related issues and deal with complexity and ambiguity.
- Strong communicator with oral, written and presentation abilities in English and Mandarin.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, positive team player.
- Professional qualifications like CFA, FRM will be considered favorably.
