Technical Software Professional

We are seeking a skilled Technical Software Professional to join our dynamic systems integration team.

You will be responsible for designing, developing and integrating complex robotic systems to solve challenging problems in real-world applications.

• Develop sensor drivers and integrate sensors to enhance system functionality.
• Create software solutions to perform data collection on mobile platforms using C++ programming.
• Design and develop native programs to analyze and visualize collected data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the mobile data collection platform is efficient and robust.

The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in modern programming languages, data structures, algorithms, memory management, cache optimization, data-oriented design, and linear algebra or geometry. Experience in robotics fields is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Research on state of the art algorithms, technologies and tools, evaluate and compare pros and cons, and make recommendations; contribute to smart robotic and automation system development projects
• Discuss with stakeholders to clearly understand their needs, problem statements, constraints and expectations
• Propose new concepts, design and develop new algorithms and software modules in the area of autonomous manufacturing, human-centric intelligent automation systems, reconfigurable robotic systems etc.
• Work with team in validating using virtual models, simulations, physical prototypes and preparing demonstrators
• Review current roadmap, identify new research directions, generate proposals for new projects / grants
• Prepare detailed technical documentation of projects and make presentations to a diverse audience
• Prepare detailed scientific papers and documents on intellectual property (IP) / technology disclosure

Requirements

• PhD degree in AI / Computer Science, or related Engineering disciplines (such as Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Aerospace, Automation Engineering) with focus on optimization, machine learning, robotics, autonomous systems, cyber-physical systems etc.
• 2 years experience in R&D projects in their relevant area of expertise
• Strong basics in computing, data science, and AI applications related to robotic or autonomous physical systems or industry-relevant problems are also welcome
• Programming skills: Python, C/C++ in developing data analysis, optimization and machine learning algorithms and applications
• Good track record of scientific publications in top journals or conferences, and/or patents

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. As part of the Mechanical Design team, you will be responsible for providing mechanical and mechanism engineering expertise in the R&D of surgical robotic systems.

This includes designing mechanisms, structures and integrating actuators, motion components, and sensors to achieve innovative product functionalities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanism design and fabrication of precision or micro instruments, as well as experience with 3D CAD modelling and simulation software like SolidWorks.

They should also have good knowledge of various materials (metal and plastic), coating and manufacturing processes for precision parts.

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required, with hands-on experience in the structure design & development of surgical robotic system or surgical instrument.

Additionally, the candidate should be proficient in performing FEA and motion analysis, and have a good understanding of designs for mechanical structure and electro-mechanical assemblies.

Good communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, particularly in Mandarin, as you will be liaising closely with other support departments.
