The Director of Revenue reports to the General Manager and is responsible for working with the Revenue Management team to determine strategic goals and tactical efforts that drive revenue to the hotel.
This role ensures that inventory allocation and pricing parameters are positioned to support the overall revenue goals of the hotel, while maintaining the integrity of rates and long-term customer investment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Closely Monitoring Competitive Pricing: Analyze and understand the impact of competitive pricing on property performance.
- Leading Revenue Meetings: Conduct fortnightly revenue meetings to discuss strategies and goals.
- Demand Analysis and Forecasting: Provide analysis of demand factors, competitive positioning, and future outlook and trends.
- Reporting and Data Analysis: Prepare Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Revenue reports to include production, trends, booking patterns, and channel analysis.
- Revenue Maximization: Develop fundamentals and provide guidelines to maximize revenues related to catering events, function space, and other revenue streams at the Hotel.
- Data Accuracy: Ensure the revenue plan is updated daily, balancing all figures with the Property Management System (PMS) and ensuring accurate data input into the system.
- Revenue System Management: Actively manage the Hotel's revenue system.
- Transient and Group Production: Monitor transient and group production to ensure an optimal mix is maintained.
- Revenue Strategy Implementation: Analyze the impact of the revenue management strategy being implemented by the Hotel team and advise relevant changes as needed.
- Rate Parity: Ensure rate parity is maintained across all channels through conducting rate and availability audits.
- Business Outlook: Accurately forecast short-term (weekly) and long-term (30, 60, and 90 days) business outlook.
- Rates and Packages: Work with the Director of Sales and Director of Marketing to determine effective rate offers (packages).
- Training and Development: Responsible for developing, training, and providing guidance to the Revenue Analyst/Distribution Executive/ Reservations Team.
