Research Analyst / Senior Analyst (Malaysia Programme)

The S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), a Graduate School of Nanyang Technological University (NTU), is a leading research and teaching institution in strategic and international affairs and policy think tank in the Asia-Pacific region.

RSIS is seeking applicants for the position of Research Analyst/ Senior Analyst for Malaysia Programme.  Applicants should have a deep interest and some experience in researching on Malaysia's foreign, defence and security policies.  They should be able to write in concise and grammatical English, and instinctively take an open and analytical approach to public policy and politics.  Equally, they should be conscientious and effective managers of time and budget.  They should be self-motivated and happy to work independently on their own but also harmoniously in a team as needed.

The successful applicant will assist in managing research projects and undertake research and reporting on current developments in Malaysia.  Administrative duties will include working with research partners and administrative colleagues, organising events, and managing the programme's budget.

Applicants should possess a minimum of Bachelor's degree in history, international relations or related disciplines, with proficiency in the Malay Language (written and spoken). Applicants should also possess good writing and research skills with an aptitude and interest for in-depth research a relevant field.

Job Purpose

Population Health Research, Program Evaluation and Outcome Research, and Data Science are interdisciplinary fields which play important roles in understanding the health outcomes of groups of individuals in Singapore. HSOR, NHG has the expertise and know how to lead Singapore and MOH in this.

The job holder will support projects by:

• Conducting literature reviews, helping with data extraction and data collection including surveys, interviews and focus groups, assessing research participant eligibility and facilitating their enrolment.
• Requesting or acquiring equipment or supplies required for the project, and supporting project coordination.

• Ensuring proper documentation and archiving of project files/documents, ensuring that these documents are complete and in compliance with research audit, monitoring and reporting requirements.

• Identifying and analysing challenges and obstacles to project implementation, and proposing solutions.

• Conducting data processing, analysis and report writing under supervision.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

(a) Education/Training/Experience

• Preferably a Master's degree in Health Science, Social Science, Statistics or related disciplines with at least 2 years research experience.
• Knowledgeable in research project coordination, data collection, monitoring, documentation and budgeting.
• Understands research methodologies. Experience with qualitative and survey research methods is an advantage.
• Able to conduct data analysis and report writing under supervision.
• Strong project administration skills.

What the role is

You will monitor current and emerging security trends, develop and implement personnel security policies that safeguard MINDEF/SAF interests. You will also be part of MSD's security clearance process to examine intelligence information, identify security vulnerabilities and assess if individuals meet the security requirements to access MINDEF/SAF classified information.

The Military Security Department (MSD)'s core business is in Counter Intelligence and internal security for MINDEF/SAF. MSD was formed in 1975 to counter the threats of espionage, subversion and sabotage against MINDEF/SAF. About The Role
We are expanding our research team by hiring a Head of Research to lead a team of 4 to 6 in APAC and to further develop fundamental research for our products. This is primarily a management role that may also include writing research and regularly engaging with YipitData’s client base to drive additional value beyond our research products. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with at least 7 years of experience who wants to lead the data-driven future of investment research. Backgrounds in buyside or sellside research, management consulting, or experience using data to understand business trends and solve customer problems are a good fit.
