General Job Requirements
Reporting to the Sr Director, Finance - APAC GFS, this position leads the Record to Report (RTR) team managing RTR services across Asia including Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, South Korea, China, Japan, and Australia/New Zealand. The primary customers are Finance Directors of Gilead's Asian countries, along with the broader finance team and business stakeholders.
Position Specific Responsibilities
Provide functional leadership and champion the GFS vision.
Contribute to developing a culture of efficiency and effectiveness.
Establish strong relationships with market finance teams and stakeholders.
Recruit, retain, motivate, and develop staff for RTR processes.
Manage, train, and guide the RTR team and market users.
Oversee process performance, KPIs, and process improvements.
Recommend process and policy changes, leveraging technology for efficiencies.
Collaborate with process specialists and in-country staff to improve workflows.
Ensure compliance with service standards and KPIs.
Manage accounting close and financial reporting for markets.
Review transactions and account reconciliations.
Maintain ledger integrity and ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
Develop and assess internal controls related to financial reporting.
Coordinate the transition of activities into the RTR team.
Manage Balance Sheet Reviews with Asian Controllers and Market Finance Leads.
Interact with internal/external auditors successfully.
Require 10+ years of relevant experience in a multinational environment, preferably with shared services experience.
Knowledge of biotech or pharmaceutical industry regulations is advantageous.
Degree in Finance, Business, or an MBA; ACA/ACCA/CPA preferred, with Big 4 background a plus.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SOX compliance, and experience with ERP systems like Oracle and SAP.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
Self-starter with analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
Fluency in English and Mandarin is required; Japanese and Korean are a plus.
