The R2R ( record to report / general ledger) Consultant is responsible for ensuring the precise and timely completion of month-end closing and financial reporting to the Management. This role demands a comprehensive understanding of accounting processes, inter-company activities, and compliance with statutory and internal regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Timely, Accurate Month-End Closing and Financial Reporting: Ensure timely, accurate month-end closing, management and financial reporting.
Accounting Processes and Tasks: Handle various accounting processes and tasks including receipts and payments interface reconciliation, General Ledger (GL), and other key reconciliations.
Internal Coordination and Liaison: Coordinate and liaise with internal parties and the firm’s network to support intercompany activities.
External Coordination and Liaison: Coordinate and liaise with external parties such as external auditors, tax agents, corporate secretarial agents, and local government authorities as required.
Compliance and Support: Support and ensure compliance with all finance filing requirements, tax filing requirements (GST), audits, procedures, and forms both statutory and internal.
Assist in the redesign of current processes projects to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Perform other related ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements
Strong knowledge of month-end closing processes and preparation of financial statements
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work well with people across different backgrounds
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and good command in English, both written and oral
Good sense of logic and analytical thinking
Agile and open to dynamic working environment
Ability to ensure compliance with statutory and internal regulations
Experience in liaising with external auditors, tax agents, and government authorities
Capability to assist in new process and system implementations
This role is vital to maintain the financial integrity and compliance of the organization. The R2R Consultant will play a crucial role in the financial operations, ensuring accuracy and collaboration both internally and externally

Ensure completeness and accuracy of financial statements along with compliance with the applicable accounting standards. Board reporting and audit query management. Ensure smooth completion of all audits and other compliances Detailed analysis of monthly financials of the entities and Variance analysis before GL close. Should have regular review of local and global changes wrt to Financial Reporting & compliances, applicability and implementation of the same. To identify & recommend new Finance work that can be transitioned to the India Office to achieve the efficiency targets and lead transitions as & when required Make recommendations for changes as needed and ensure that company policies and procedures are followed and establishes the proper techniques to discover and prevent fraud Set team goals, establish and maintain robust feedback structure, conduct annual reviews, resolve people issues and control attrition Establish strong controls, in line with the Internal audit and Statutory auditors recommendation i.e., all balance sheet recs prepared from India and offices should comply with the policy and provide evidence as to the health of the balances. Maintaining Risk and Control Matrix for various processes identifying key risks and mitigating controls Up-Skill teams with domain expertise, maintain cross training in the team to avoid any challenge in meeting process continuity.   • Oversee and maintain full set of accounts

Required skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field. CPA, CA or ACCA qualification preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial management or accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, financial regulations and tax regulations.
  • Analytical skills to interpret large volumes of data and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Oracle NetSuite accounting software
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong management and leadership skills.

Job Summary

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting:
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS and other relevant standards.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance of financial statements with regulatory and corporate requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather relevant financial data and support internal and external audit processes.

Tax Filing And Compliance

  • Review good and services tax (GST) transactions to ensure compliance with IRAS guidelines, including accurate GST filing.
  • Ensure Corporate tax computations are accurate and that all relevant supporting documents are in place.
  • Implement updates and internal practices to ensure ongoing compliance to Tax regulations.

General Ledger Accounting And Month-End Closing

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of general ledger accounting, and be accountable for local financial book quality, prepare management report for parent companies.
  • Conduct month-end closing activities and reconciliations, reconcile elimination entries.

Compliance And Regulatory Adherence

  • Monitor and maintain compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and reporting deadlines.
  • Assist in implementing new accounting standards, interpreting guidelines, and assessing the impact on financial reporting.
  • Prepare documents and work papers for auditors and regulatory bodies, ensuring prompt response to queries.
  • Liaise with internal/external auditors in respect of operation or quarterly audit and attend to their queries.

Financial Analysis And Insights

  • Analyze financial data and provide insights and recommendations to management.
  • Identify and evaluate trends, variances, and risks in financial data to support business decisions.
  • Work with the team to develop financial projections, budget analyses, and variance reports.

Process Improvement

  • Identify and recommend improvements in financial reporting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support the development and implementation of automated solutions to streamline financial reporting activities.
  • Ensure that proper internal controls are in place and propose enhancements to the existing control environment.

Team Collaboration And Leadership

  • Assist in guiding and mentoring the financial reporting team, providing support and professional development opportunities.
  • Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring team members understand responsibilities and timelines.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging the team to identify innovative solutions and maintain high-quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree or CPA/ACCA/CMA preferred).
  • 4-6 years in financial reporting (GAAP/IFRS), preferable with public accounting, or Fab/Manufacturing experience.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Independent, proactive with a positive and hands-on attitude.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly and accurately.
