Job Description

As a QA Engineer at Pixalate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and excellence of our products. Collaborating with our engineering and data science teams, you'll develop, implement, and maintain effective testing strategies, with a primary focus on data integrity and automated UI testing. This role is key in ensuring that our software meets the highest standards of quality and exceeds our customers' expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Be hands-on in performing Data QA and building Plans.
• Collaborate with engineering and data science teams to understand product changes and define applicable tests.
• Develop, implement, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases, focusing particularly on data integrity and UI functionality.
• Carry out functional, integration, and regression testing, with a focus on data testing and automated UI testing.
• Identify, log, and track defects throughout the testing process, ensuring that all data and UI issues are effectively addressed.
• Use queries or other tools to validate data, verify transformation rules, and conduct back-end testing.
• Implement automated UI testing processes using tools such as Selenium, Appium, or similar.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of Pixalate's QA methodologies.
• Document QA procedures, ensuring the sharing of knowledge and best practices within the team.
  
  

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in a QA role, with a particular focus on Data QA and UI testing.
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Proficiency in SQL or BigQuery Standard SQL for data validation and testing.
• Experience with automated UI testing tools.
• Understanding of ML models and methodologies for QA’ing training data.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• Evaluate adherence to project management frameworks and standards, ensuring alignment with PMO standards.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements.
• Document user stories, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria.
• Work with system analyst/developers to clarify requirements, and review/understand the proposed technical designs and system specifications.
• Collaborate with developers to develop test plans, test cases and scripts.
• Execute test cases (manual and/or automated) and analyse results.
• Create logs to document testing phases and defects.
• Report bugs and errors to development teams and track them to closure.
• Help troubleshoot issues/conduct root cause analysis of bugs when necessary.
• Develop the necessary framework for test automation in a DevOps environment.
• Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by superior from time to time.

Role Requirements:

• Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field preferred, with Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst, QA tester or similar role
• Experience in project management, Business Analysis, and QA methodology
• Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing is a must
• Ability to document and troubleshoot errors
• Strong scripting fundamentals to develop script for test-case automation
• Working knowledge of test management software (e.g. Selenium, SOAP UI, qTest, Zephyr) and strong SQL foundation
• Excellent communication skills
