AmChamSG seeks a dynamic and experienced Senior Executive/Manager to join our Special Projects and Government Relations team. This full-time position reports to the Head, Special Projects and Government Relations. The team plays a crucial role in developing new programs and initiatives, serving as the primary liaison with the U.S. and Singapore governments, and supporting public relations efforts.
This position offers significant exposure to senior business and government leaders across diverse industries and sectors. The ideal candidate possesses strong emotional intelligence, persuasive communication skills, a professional demeanor, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This is a people-focused role requiring a detail-oriented self-starter.
Major Responsibilities
Government Engagement
- Develop and execute comprehensive government relations strategies to advance AmChamSG
- Establish and maintain relationships with key government officials, agencies, and policymakers
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and provide insights on potential impacts to AmChamSG and our member companies
Policy Advocacy
- Advocate for policies that align with the goals and values of AmChamSG
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop policy positions and recommendations
- Prepare and deliver compelling advocacy materials, e.g., policy briefs, publications, and position papers
Strategic Planning
- Work with senior leadership to align government relations strategies with the organization's overall strategic plan
- Identify and prioritize key government relations opportunities and challenges
- Measure and report on the effectiveness of government relations efforts
Content Development
- Draft letters to government officials to invite them to participate as the guest of honor, deliver keynote address and/or take part in fireside chat or panel
- Develop talking points, speeches, presentations, and other communications
As required, provide logistical support for the Chamber's events.
Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Requirements
Strong candidates will have strong writing skills, a sophisticated understanding of relationship management, and demonstrated success with project management. They must be able to acclimate quickly, assess internal and external priorities and establish the relationships they need to move forward and execute. The candidate must be able to work independently yet collaboratively in a high-performing, fast-paced environment.

- Applicants with 3-5 years of experience are encouraged to apply

The Public Affairs team seeks to position, project, and protect the Temasek brand and reputation. We adopt an agile and multidisciplinary approach to communicate and engage with our stakeholders as well as deepen their understanding of Temasek – what we do and why we do the things that we do. This work includes proactive reputation, media and issues management.
ResponsibilitiesThis is a leadership role within the Public Affairs (PA) team that will provide strategic counsel to our internal and external stakeholders on Media and Issues Management, Brand Building, as well as Reputation Management. It will also involve formulating and executing effective communications strategies and programmes. The candidate will be one of the senior team leaders within the PA team and is expected to have strong people management experience.
The candidate will be expected to develop a deep understanding of Temasek and its portfolio, and the acute ability to anticipate and identify potential issues and their impact on Temasek’s reputation and provide counsel effectively. This will require a strong grasp of the global media landscape and the expertise to influence and shape public perceptions of Temasek.
The candidate must have strong media networks and be adept and comfortable interacting with media at the highest levels in Singapore, regionally, and globally. The role requires an experienced, independent, and excellent communicator with outstanding writing skills and clarity in thinking and presentation style.
Requirements- About 20 years of relevant work experience; past experiences in global firms across diverse cultures would be an advantage
- Degree in Communications, Media, Business or a related field
- Deep expertise in managing reputational issues and transactions related communications
- Strong media relations skills and global network
- Leadership experience in managing teams
- Highly responsive; able to perform in a fast-paced environment and across markets dealing with the 24/7 news cycle; and can effectively meet tight deadlines
- Able to quickly assimilate complex issues and transactions, and highly skilled in distilling the complex into relatable and impactful messages to target audiences
- Excellent writing and collaboration skills, including a strong ability to lead juniors by example, and to engage senior stakeholders with persuasion and influence
